A cooling device for cooling a metallic item and a method for operating the cooling device. Such cooling devices having a plurality of cooling bars arranged in parallel in groups for applying a coolant to the metallic item are known in the prior art. In order to be able to set a desired distribution function of the coolant over the width of the metallic item as precisely as possible, the cooling device provides that similar application regions in at least two cooling bars within a group are each formed differently with respect to their contour and/or with respect to their surface area.

Cooling device and method for operating same

A device for producing strip material, such as a hot strip. The device includes lateral guide elements which are arranged on both sides of the strip material and, in particular, along a roller table having several rollers, and at least one rotating wear body on each side guide element. In order to minimize the wear of guide elements when transporting the strip material over a roller conveyor, a speed control device regulates a rate of speed of the at least one wear element. Further, a position control device is provided for setting an extended position of the at least one wear element. The position control device sends control signals to a positioning drive for extending the at least one wear body to an extended position.

Device and method for transporting strip material, in particular a hot strip

An apparatus for winding up a metal strip into a coil. A frame in which a second counter-bending roller is mounted in a rotatable manner. The frame is movable with the aid of a second setting device between a coiler shaft position and a roller bed position. In the roller bed position, the second counter-bending roller alongside a first counter-bending roller acts as the roller bed roller of a roller bed which is arranged above the coiling device.

Apparatus for winding up a metal strip

The invention relates to a method and a device for depositing a metal coil () on two stationary support points (--). In order to be able to deposit even metal coils that have high internal residual stress in a stable manner on the two support points, according to the invention, a third support point () is pivoted against the outer circumference of the metal coil () if needed).

Method and device for depositing a metal coil

The invention relates to a device and a method for handling a metal strip. The device comprises a coiling device () with a coiling mandrel () for winding the metal strip to form a coil () on the coiling mandrel and a coil stripper car () with supports () for receiving the coil () from the coiling mandrel and removing the coil from the coiling device (). In order to additionally secure the metal strip in the coiling device during the transfer from the coiling mandrel onto the coil stripper care and during a transport by means of the coil stripper car, a first hold-down arm () is provided for exerting a first hold-down force (F) onto the outer circumference of the coil () in order to press the coil onto the supports of the coil stripper car.

Device and method for handling a metal strip

The invention relates to a device and a method for depositing a metal coil () on two support points (--). In order to avoid risks, in particular instability, while depositing metal coils having high residual stress, according to the invention the risk of an unstable position of equilibrium is checked, if a change in the relative position of the two support points (--) with respect to one another is foreseeable, it is carried out such that the metal coil () comes to rest on both support points at least approximately in a stable position of equilibrium.

The invention relates to a device for cooling rolling stock within the cooling stretch of a rolling mil, especially a hat-strip mill, whereby water spray devices are stationarily mounted below the rolling stock between rollers () of a roller train () and spray bars () held on support levers () are arranged above the rolling stock. The support levers are held be a tubular, rotationally driven and water-fed articulated tube () that extends in parallel to the longitudinal axis of the roller train. The device is further provided with a central water feed tube and an automatic control device with associated on/off valves for switching the cooling water on and off. The aim of the invention is to improve a device of the aforementioned kind in such a manner that the maximum cooling capacity to be obtained is increased while the length of the roller train required therefor is reduced, thereby attaining a compact design and high cooling capacity. According to the invention, the rollers of the roller train are therefore spaced as closely together as possible, the lower cooling bars () are disposed in the spaces remaining between the rollers and extend through these spaces with spray tubes () associated therewith. Furthermore, the rollers of the roller train are provided with elongated pins () that have a small diameter.
