An air guide casing includes an air filter, an air throttle valve, an exhaust gas recycling pipe, a mixing chamber in fluid communication with the recycling pipe, and a distributor chamber in fluid communication with the mixing chamber and at least one cylinder of an internal combustion engine. The air guide casing is provided with means for collecting a mixture of recycled exhaust gas and filtered intake air and means for distributing that mixture to the cylinders. Thus, the air guide casing provides a separate mixing section in the air guide casing to achieve good mixing of the air for combustion with the incoming exhaust gas prior to introduction of the exhaust gas and clean air into the distributor chamber.

The invention relates to a tensioning arrangement with a damping device for a belt drive. The tensioning arrangement includes a combination of a pivotal roller lever which supports a tensioning roller, a tension spring engagable with the roller lever and a damping device attached to the roller lever. In order to facilitate a rapid installation and tensioning of the belt on the belt drive, the end of the tension spring opposite the roller lever is connected with a pivotable spring tensioning lever, which spring tensioning lever is selectively movable from a position where the belt is provided with no pretensioning to a pretensioning position where the spring exhibits a predetermined pretensioning force at the belt tensioning roller.

In compact vehicle diesel engines, injection pumps are accessible only with difficulty for the purpose of adjusting a starting time of fuel delivery. An adjusting device is provided which includes an adjusting bolt or screw which may easily be reached from a top side of the engine. The adjusting bolt or screw includes a collar which is adapted to engage in a corresponding annular slot provided in an installation flange of a housing of the fuel-injection pump. A threaded portion of the adjusting bolt or screw is threadably accommodated in a threaded member pivotably fastened to the engine. When the adjusting bolt or screw is turned, the injection pump may be rotatably adjusted while a camshaft of the fuel-injection pump, connected to a timing drive of an internal combustion engine, remains in a previous position, thereby varying the start time of fuel delivery of the fuel-injection pump.

The adjusting motor is connected with the pivotal spring connection by way of an intermediate member displaceable between abutments fixed at the housing.
