An apparatus for producing metal sheets from extruded profiles of small thickness or of hollow chamber plates of light metal, preferably of magnesium or magnesium alloys, comprises an extruder for producing an extruded profile which is open along a surface line. A separating device is provided for cutting the extruded profile to length corresponding to the length of the metal sheet to be produced, or the hollow chamber plate to be produced. A bending unit is used for deforming the extruded profile into a U-shaped profile. An expansion unit is provided for expanding the U-shaped profile into a flat metal sheet or a hollow chamber plate. A stacking unit is also provided. At least one expansion unit is arranged parallel to the extrusion line and thus the extrusion and expanding processes are decoupled from one another.

A load-bearing structure for motor vehicles has a load-bearing floor of lightweight construction merging at its front in a footwell region into an upwardly projecting end wall. The structure also has a front-end structure which forms a crumple zone, is supported in the region of the end wall, and includes lightweight structural panels running in the longitudinal and transverse directions of the vehicle. A central console for a motor vehicle interior has a lower stowage compartment which can be closed by a lid module and is bounded laterally by side walls. The lid module can be pivoted about a pivot axis which is arranged at its rear end and runs in the transverse direction of the vehicle. An upper stowage compartment is arranged on the lower side of the lid module for accommodating a telephone device or other items and is covered by a first lid forming part of an armrest. A further upper stowage space is covered by a second lid which is designed as a further part of the armrest and can be pivoted about a pivot axis. The further upper stowage space is designed as part of the upper stowage compartment and together with the second lid is assigned to the lid module in such a manner that they can be pivoted together with the lid module.

The invention relates to a motor vehicle with a supporting structure provided at one end of a safety passenger compartment with a crumple zone and two wheel arches located in the vicinity of the crumple zone on the sides. A wheel is located in each respective wheel arch held by wheel guide members. A deflecting area extends diagonally to a central lengthwise axis of the motor vehicle for the associated wheel, between the safety passenger compartment and the rolling circumference of the two wheels in the straight-ahead position of the deflecting surface for the associated wheel against which the wheel moved by the crash-produced deformation of the crumple zone against the deflecting surface is deflected past the end of the safety passenger compartment. The deflecting surfaces are diagonally downwardly directed deflecting ramps by which the wheels are directed toward the safety passenger compartment and below the floor of the motor vehicle as the crumple zone collapses.

An arm rest is disclosed for a vehicle seat, in particular a pivotable central support for the rear seat bench of a passenger car. The arm rest has a padded body and a pull-out part which is integrated in said padded body, which pullout part can be pulled out on an end side and on being pulled out releases a drinking vessel holder. In order to enable more extensive use of the arm rest to accommodate mobile objects, the pull-out in which latching part can be secured in a first pull-out stage, the drinking vessel holder is exposed, using a latching assembly. An upwardly open compartment is arranged in the pull-out part, in the pull-out direction behind the drinking vessel holder. This compartment is exposed, after the latching assembly has been overcome, by further pulling out of the pull-out part in a second pull-out stage determined by an end stop.

The bonded fitting of window panes or windshields onto the window-pane flange of the window aperture of a motor-vehicle body has a set bead of adhesive which is applied between those edges of the window pane which are on the inside and the window-pane flange. In this arrangement, in each of the two lower corners there is provided, between the window pane and the bead of adhesive, a respective pressure-sensitive adhesive strip with the adhesive or bonding force reduced on one side. The pressure-sensitive adhesive strip extends from the corners of the window pane along the edges of the window pane in each case for 60 to 120 mm. When removing the window pane the pressure-sensitive adhesive strip in these corners is easily detached without using much force from the inner edge of the window pane by tilting the rest of the window pane which has been cut free.

An inflatable child seat includes at least two air chambers. The child seat is foldable when the at least two air chambers have been evacuated to form a suitcase like body. A releasable fastener is provided for fixing the child seat in its folded position. One half of the suitcase-like body forms an air chamber representing an inflatable cushion and the other half contains air chambers forming side parts, a backrest, a head restraint and a tray of the child seat.
