A capacitive angle sensor that is used preferably in motor vehicles includes a sensor housing ( ) having a cover ( &prime;) covering the sensor housing ( ). A stator ( ) and a rotor ( ) are positioned in the sensor housing ( ), each respectively including a ceramic plate and lying in a plane parallel to the other. The ceramic plates are preferably of an Al O ceramic. Printed electrode structures of electrodes ( ), as sensor capacitances and coupling capacitances ( ), are located on sides of the stator ( ) and of the rotor ( ) facing respectively outward. The electrode structures are printed on back sides of the ceramic plates, so that the electrodes ( ), upon assembly into the angle sensor ( ), are located on the sides of the stator ( ) and of the rotor ( ) that face respectively away from each.

Capacitive angle sensor

An electrical rotary switch for several switch positions having a control knob mounted in a housing supported on first, second and third ball bearings that, guided by a cage disk, roll in a housing groove formed by an axial wall and a radial wall against which the ball bearings are loaded under an applied force of a conical bearing surface of the control knob. Axial and radial wall bearing surfaces respectively have first and second contact segments and first, second and third contact bands thereon that extend out of the housing via terminal lugs, the first contact segment and first contact band being shorted by the first ball bearing in predetermined switch positions. In a last switch position, contact occurs between the second contact segment (,) and the second and third contact bands (,) through the second and third ball bearings (,).

Electrical rotary switch

A control unit (1) for switching and controlling functions (6) of household appliances has a continuous control surface (2) with operational areas (3) and a printed film (5). Several piezosensors (4) are arranged on a back of a plate forming the control surface (2), connected firmly and rigidly to the plate. The piezosensors (4) can be located in a film packet (9), for example, through which the piezosensors (4) are electrically connected to a processor (12). Through an offset arrangement of the piezosensors (4) in a matrix pattern direct illumination or back lighting of the printed film (5) can be achieved, thereby improving an operator's visual recognition while permitting accurate recognition of a function by the processor (12). An input filter (15) prevents operator error due to unintentional actuation of the control unit.

Control unit for switching and controlling household appliances

A rotary switch has a control knob (3) that is mounted on at least three balls (6) that move, guided by a cage disk (7), in a housing groove (8) formed by a radial wall (9) and an axial wall (10), against which the balls (6) are urged by an outward or inward conical bearing surface (11) or (12). The radial and axial wall bearing surfaces have contact segments and contact paths (13, 14) that are shorted by at least one of the balls (6). The control knob has a stop lug (15), an operational adjustment angle (4) of which is limited by housing lugs (16) and which, during operational adjustment, contacts at least one of two stop lugs (17) of the cage disk, which are positioned at an angle that corresponds approximately to one-half the maximum operational adjustment angle (4) and to a maximum contact adjustment angle (5). This structure results in reduced cost and functional improvement.

Rotary potentiometers known in the art having sensitive adjustment of the control knob require a stepdown gearing and have differing moments of friction that vary between devices. By contrast, in a rotary potentiometer of this invention a control knob (3) is mounted on at least three balls (6) that move, guided by a cage disk (7), in a housing groove (8) formed by a radial wall (9) and an axial wall (10), against which the balls (6) are urged by a load pressure of a conical bearing surface (11 or 12) of the control knob (3). The radial and axial wall bearing surfaces have contact and resistive strips (13, 14) that are short circuited by the balls (6). The control knob (3) has a stop lug (15) which contacts housing lugs (16) to limit a manipulation adjustment angle (4) and which, during operational adjustment, contacts at least one of two stop lugs (17) of the cage disk (7), which are positioned at an angle that corresponds approximately to one-half the manipulation adjustment angle (4) and the resistor tap angle (5). This design results in reduced cost and functional improvement.

Electrical rotary potentiometer

By applying pressure created by a forced guidance of a sled (11) to contact springs (12-19) carried by the sled, a reduced contact friction upon insertion, as well as upon removal, of a chip card (3) results. This forced guidance is achieved by having a cut-out (7) in a circuit board (5) in which the sled is shoved by the inserted card to be guided by double slot guides (9)on each side of the sled.

Reading apparatus for chip cards having reduced contact friction

An optoelectronic component for improved distribution of light in a horizontal plane has an elongated body (2) with a central hollow (6) at a top portion (3) thereof, a base (4), and an electrical connection (5). An internally emitted luminescent beam (7) is deflected by the central hollow (6) through transparent portions of the body into the horizontal plane. A height of the component (1) is thereby reduced, and light is fed into light guides more efficiently. Light distribution on all sides is made possible by a conical central hollow. The luminescent beam (7) can be concentrated into four beams by using a pyramidal hollow (6), so that the luminescent beam (7) can be efficiently fed into four light guides that cross at that location.
