A support system for the body of a motor vehicle, especially a passenger car, is constructed as at least part of a fender, extending between one of the walls of the passenger compartment and one end part of the vehicle. The support system comprises an inner wall component and an outer wall component which are relatively equally subdivided into forward and rear sections along their length. The forward section and rear section of the support system meet in an area at which chassis-connection elements are located and together the wall components define strengthening and force-absorbing structures which extend in a vehicle longitudinal direction, the structures being constructed so as to be less resistant to deformation in the forward section than in the rear section. In accordance with a preferred embodiment the structures comprise at least two superposed, substantially parallel frame-like members. More particularly, the structures are formed by deformations in the wall components and create frame-like members that are hollow and tubular with flanges extending upwardly and downwardly therefrom.

Support system for the body of a motor vehicle, especially a passenger

A vacuum mattress of the type having a casing that is loosely filled with a multitude of synthetic plastic components so as to enable the mattress to adapt in shape to the body contour of a person thereon and which is retained in the body contour adapted shape by evacuation of the casing, is provided with support elements projecting above an upper surface plane of a central mattress-forming element and have at least a portion thereof extending in a direction across at least one end thereof. In preferred embodiments, the support elements are formed by separate casings from that of the central element and these casings are evacuatable separately and/or jointly from each other, and the support elements are configured so as to define an opening for a person's head and support for his shoulders. The support element in the illustrated embodiments include either a ring segment shaped section for defining the head opening and shoulder support or segments extending diagonally and normally with respect to a central longitudinal plane of the mattress.

Vacuum mattress, preferably for rescue vehicles

A vacuum mattress having a casing which is loosely filled with a multitude of synthetic resin components so as to enable the mattress to adapt in shape to the body contour of a person thereon, and provided on said casing with a valve for evacuating the mattress so as to retain it in said body contour adapted shape.

A transport vehicle which includes a vehicle frame, a vehicle cab or cabin, and a spring support arrangement for supporting the vehicle cab or cabin at the vehicle frame. At least one of a mechanical or hydraulic elevating system is operatively connected at the vehicle cab or cabin and the vehicle frame for enabling a predetermined amount of pivotal movement of the vehicle cab or cabin relative to the vehicle frame in a vertically extending plane. A damping system is operatively connected to the elevating system so as to effect a damping action thereon.

An installation for the energy absorption of motor vehicles, in which a deformation member has a wall structure delimiting a hollow space which cooperates with a pressure installation that acts upon the hollow space during an accident in dependence on a trigger mechanism and thereby deforms the wall structure in such a manner that the energy absorption efficacy of the deformation member is increased.
