Paper machine for producing paper that can be gravure printed from a fibrous stock suspension, and a related method. The paper machine includes a pressing section having at least one press nip, an impingement dryer arranged immediately after the pressing section, and an applicator. The applicator applies a coating color in the manner of at least one of a curtain application, a film application, or a spraying application.

Paper machine

The invention relates to a paper machine for producing paper that can be gravure printed from a fibrous stock suspension, and a related method. The paper machine includes a wire section, a pressing section, a drying section, and a winding section for winding the produced paper on a paper roll. Additionally, the paper machine includes a film press having a film roll for applying a coating color and a calender arranged downstream of the film press.

Machine for producing a fibrous material web and process for guiding the web through the machine. The machine includes a wire section, a drying section, arranged downstream of the wire section with regard to a web travel direction, having at least one free web draw, a first and second shoe press separated in the web travel direction, and an upper felt and a lower transfer belt arranged to guide the fibrous material web through the second shoe press. The lower transfer belt is structured and arranged to transfer the fibrous material web to the drying section, and the material web is guided in a closed draw from the wire section to a first free web draw, with regard to the web travel direction, in the drying section. At least one high-performance drying device is positioned before the first free web draw.

Machine for producing a fibrous material web

In a method for the production and converting of paper, paper-specific information determined during paper production is transmitted to and considered during the respective converting process to thereby optimize at least one converting process.

Method for manufacturing and converting of paper

Press section and process for dewatering a fibrous material web that includes a plurality of rolls arranged to form at least three nips and at least one endlessly circulating dewatering belt associated with each nip. Each at least one endlessly circulating dewatering belt is structured and arranged to guide the fibrous material web through its respective nip and to receive water squeezed out of the fibrous material web in the respective nip. The plurality of rolls include at least one press roll having a smooth surface arranged to contact a surface of the fibrous material web and an endlessly circulating, smooth transfer belt is structured and arranged to contact a surface of the fibrous material web opposite the surface contacting the smooth surface of the at least one press roll and to support the fibrous material web through at least one of the at least three nips.

Press section

Process for conditioning a circulating felt belt of a machine, pipe suction apparatus and traversing pipe suction apparatus therefor, the process including performing a zonal conditioning of a plurality of zones across a width of the felt belt by measuring at least one of, fibrous material web cross direction profile; felt belt cross direction profile; and permeability of the felt belt across the width of at least one of the web and the belt. The felt belt is conditioned depending on measuring results obtained for a respective zone. The pipe suction apparatus includes a ceramic body extending at least essentially across the entire width of the felt belt, the ceramic body being provided with a slotted surface by way of which the felt belt is subjectable to vacuum, with a respective effective amount of slotted surface being zonally variably adjustable by way of movable tongues.

Process for conditioning a circulating felt belt

Process for determining disturbances of a moisture cross profile of a fibrous material web in a paper making machine, a paper making machine, and a measuring arrangement for measuring the disturbances, the process including guiding the fibrous material web by way of at least one water-permeable belt and collecting and draining off water released from the belt. The water is collected by several sections separated from one another. The process further includes measuring per time unit, the amount of water in each section, wherein the sections extend at right angles to a web running direction over only a partial section of the fibrous material web. The paper making machine includes at least one water-permeable belt, the belt being wrapped around a roll. The measuring arrangement includes a water collection device having the form of one of a trough or channel.

Moisture cross profile

Process and a device for detecting a change in the fiber orientation cross-direction profile of a paper or cardboard web in the manufacturing process on a paper or cardboard machine. It is recognized that a change in the fiber orientation cross-direction profile in the web is inferred or determined by way of a characteristic change in the basis weight cross-direction profile or at least one measurement quantity that correlates to it, and/or by way of a characteristic change in the basis weight in the travel direction of the web or at least one measurement quantity that correlates to it. The device includes an arrangement for detecting a change in the basis weight cross-direction profile and/or a characteristic chronological course of the change in the basis weight, which is characteristic for a change in the fiber orientation.

Process for detecting and correcting a fiber orientation cross direction profile change

Process and apparatus for dewatering a fibrous material web. The process includes guiding the fibrous material web through a dewatering zone, and directing a plurality of gas pressure pulses of a pressurized displacement gas one after the other onto a surface of the fibrous material web within the dewatering zone. The apparatus includes a device for forming a plurality of gas pressure pulses which are arranged one after the other within the dewatering zone. The plurality of gas pressure pulses are directed onto a surface of the fibrous material web.

Process and device for dewatering a fibrous material web

Apparatus and process for dewatering a material web. The apparatus includes at least one pressure chamber formed by at least four substantially parallel rolls, a device arranged to introduce a pressurized gas into the at least one pressure chamber, and the at least four substantially parallel rolls being displaceable relative to one another to change an effective area of the at least one pressure chamber. The material web is guided through the at least one pressure chamber. The process includes pressurizing at least one pressure chamber with a gas medium, guiding the material web through the pressure chamber, driving water out of the material web using gas pressure within the at least one pressure chamber, and changing an effective area of the pressure chamber so as to adjust a dewatering capacity.

Device for dewatering a material web

Process and apparatus for improving a consistency cross-direction profile of a fiber web in the wet section. The process includes distributing a fiber suspension across a machine width from a headbox to one of on a wire and between two wires, adjusting a cross-sectional basis weight by sectionally mixing, across the machine width, a first suspension having a first solid content and a first percentage composition and a second suspension having second solid content that is one of lower and higher than the first solid content, and a second percentage composition of the solids content of the second suspension differs from the first percentage composition, and sectionally admixing at least a third suspension across the machine width, the third suspension having a solids content that is one of lower and higher than the solids content of at least one of the first and second solids content, and having a third percentage composition that differs from at least one of the first and second percentage compositions. The apparatus includes one of a first machine-wide feed and a first set of individual feeds for the first suspension, a second set of individual feeds for the second suspension, control devices coupled to the second set of individual feeds for regulating a flow of the second suspension, a turbulence generator, a headbox nozzle. At least a third set of individual feeds for a third suspension is positioned at least one of upstream from the turbulence generator and to act equally on each section across the machine width. The third suspension has a solids content that differs from the solids contents of the first and second suspensions, and additional control devices coupled to the third set of individual feeds for regulating a flow of the third suspension.

Process and headbox system for improving consistency cross-direction profile of fiber web

Process for cleaning or maintaining the cleanliness of a low-consistency branch of a stock density-regulated headbox system including a constant part of a paper or cardboard machine having at least one high-consistency branch and one low-consistency branch, possibly sectioned. The final concentration output by the headbox onto a wire or between two wires is determined by a mixing ratio of high-concentration and low-concentration suspension flows. The process includes supplying the low-consistency branch with an increased content of solid particles. Headbox system including a constant part of a paper or cardboard machine, having a stock density regulation that is sectioned across the machine width by variably mixing a high-consistency suspension and a low-consistency suspension, with a high-consistency branch and a low-consistency branch. The headbox system includes at least one supply to the low-consistency branch for introducing solid particle contents into the suspension flow.

Process for cleaning or maintaining the cleanliness of the low-consistency branch of a headbox system

Process for controlling and consistency-controlled headbox for a paper machine with a common feed line for a pulp slurry, a plurality of feed line sections into which the common feed line branches, and a system for influencing the composition of the slurry flows in each of the plurality of feed line sections. At least one pulp consistency sensor is provided for sectional pulp consistency control.

Process for controlling headbox with pulp consistency control

Process for setting a uniform characteristic cross-direction profile for a paper web with regard to at least formation, basis weight, and fiber orientation in a paper machine. The paper machine can include a headbox with an adjustable die exit opening and within which the consistency is sectionally adjustable. The process includes measuring and setting a desired basis weight cross-direction profile by adjusting the sectional consistency in the headbox, adjusting the formation cross-direction profile by adjusting a sectional, specific pulp slurry flow rate at the die exit opening, and one of enlarging the die exit opening at positions along a width of the paper machine in which a pulp slurry flow rate is higher than in other positions along the width of the paper machine and increasing the pulp slurry flow rate for positions along the width at which the die exit opening is larger than at other positions along the width. In this manner, a desired fiber orientation cross-direction profile is attained.

Process for setting a uniform characteristic cross-direction profile for a paper web

The invention relates to a closed-loop control device and a method for the control of the cross-machine and/or machine direction profile of at least one quality feature in the paper manufacturing process with the aid of two sensors. The first sensor picks up a first measured signal of the cross-machine and/or machine direction profile of a first quality feature of the paper web produced. A second sensor picks up a further measured signal. The further sensor is suitable for picking up a quality feature that differs from that picked up by the first sensor, or measures the first quality feature. One or both sensors traverse the web separately. The sensors act through a controller on actuators leading to the feed line or lines for the suspension leading to the flowbox of the machine for controlling thereby the first quality feature of the process.
