The present invention relates to a radio resource controller () for controlling radio resources of a serving radio access node (). The controller is configured to assign particular radio resources of the serving radio access node to a radio communication session established between the serving radio access node and a particular mobile station, and to push session information (UE_id; UE_ctx_ptr) of the radio communication session into a common data repository () accessible to a further radio resource controller () controlling radio resources of a further radio access node (). The session information comprise a mobile identifier (UE_id) that may be used by the particular mobile station for resumption of the radio communication session, and further allow retrieval of contextual communication parameters (UE_ctx) used by the serving radio access node for radio communication with the particular mobile station during the radio communication session. The radio resource controller and the further radio resource controller would run on a common computer platform as two respective process instances. The computer platform would further hold the common data repository.

Call drop avoidance during radio link failure

A cordless telecommunications system (CTS) with a base station (CTS-FP) and with at least one mobile station (MS) initialised at the base station (CTS-FP), for carrying out a process for transmitting operating parameters from a control centre (Z) of a superimposed telecommunications network (PLMN; PSTN, ISDN), which transmits operating parameters initially to the base station (CTS-FP) or to one of the mobile stations (MS) of the cordless telecommunications system (CTS) and then relays the operating parameters to as far as possible all initialised mobile stations or to the base station (CTS-FP) as well as to as far as possible all other initialised mobile stations (MS) is proposed. Method for transferring operating parameters from a control center to a locally limited wireless telecommunications system and a corresponding wireless telecommunications system

Wireless telecommunications systems with at least one base station and with mobile user terminals are known where radio signals are transmitted and received in different time and frequency states. Both on user channels as well as on signaling channels there are radio signals that are transmitted corresponding to the predicted frequency hopping sequence. We now suggest, first, that the base station and the user terminal contain controllers (CTR) to control the frequency state alternation that produce no frequency hopping sequences for the first part of the time grid but rather predict a steady frequency (f ) and produce a pseudorandom frequency hopping sequence (THS) for at least one further part of the time grid after one iterative process (LGNR), second, that the base station transmits an input value (CW) to the user terminals in order to process the pseudorandom frequency hopping sequence, and to control the frequency alternation in accordance with this pseudorandom frequency hopping sequence in the controller for registering user terminals. This way we can achieve the result that a processed frequency hopping sequence is used as early as during transmission of registration signals, i.e. a frequency hopping sequence that is developed on the basis of the input value and does not have to be saved completely.

Wireless telecommunications system, base station and mobile user terminal that exchange radio signals according to a frequency hopping sequences

A service-on-demand system (,) with a set-top box (,) which is connected to the service-on-demand system (,) and includes a smart-card interface (,) and a decoder (,) which can read and decode information stored on a smart card (,) inserted by a user into the interface (,), and with a controller which can permit or block access to the service-on-demand system (,) depending on the decoded information is characterized in that input means (,) are provided for enabling the user to enter a secret number, and that the decoder (,) of the set-top box (,) is granted access to the inserted smart card (,) for reading and decoding the information stored thereon only if a correct secret number was entered. Unauthorized access to the system can thus be prevented with a higher degree of certainty than in conventional systems. The sensitive data stored on the smart card are additionally protected against unauthorized readout by a password.

Access control facility for a service-on-demand system

A method for establishing a telecommunications link utilizing bursts in a digital radio network having at least one other digital radio network superposed thereon. The bursts of the two digital radio networks have the same bit structure but differ in a specific bit training sequence, and this training sequence of a burst is checked during the establishment of the telecommunications link. By processing only bursts with the training sequences of the desired digital radio network, erroneously received other bursts are filtered out and discarded.

Method and telecommunications unit for establishing a telecommunications link in superposed digital radio networks

Anonymous use of and payment for, as well as collection of statistics, fee-based services, in particular Near-VOD services, employing a single chip card that can be used for all service providers. The chip card is used for paying for fee-based services of different service providers. Storage of usage-related data for collection of statistics and for payment for fee-based services as well as an authorization check is provided on the chip card. When an amount of money is loaded onto the chip card, these data are read and transmitted to a central office for the purpose of collecting statistics relating to the usage of individual services and crediting the individual service providers while, at the same time, guaranteeing anonymity of the individual customer-specific data.
