A transporting device has wheels, a stair climbing unit having climbing legs, an electric motor provided for driving of the stair climbing unit, a drive shaft which is driven by the electric motor and is formed as a crank shaft located symmetrically to a central longitudinal axis of the device, the drive shaft having halves each rotatably supporting a first crank for the climbing leg and a second crank for the wheel.

A transporting device has a frame, wheels arranged on the frame, and a step climbing unit including an electric motor, first eccentric levers driven by the electric motor, second eccentric levers rotatably supported on the first eccentric levers supports on which the second eccentric levers are rotatably supported and which have lower ends provided with supporting elements, and a transmission provided between the first and second eccentric levers and having a transmission ratio 1:2.

A drive assistance device for a hand-driven wheel chair has two running wheels, said running wheels being adapted to be detachably mounted to a wheel chair frame and being provided with hand rims for applying manual force. Each of said running wheels comprises a drive unit having an electric motor, a power supply and an electronic control unit associated thereto. Said complete drive unit including said electric motor, said power supply and said electronic control unit associated thereto is located in the region of the wheel hub. Preferably, said drive unit including said electric motor, said power supply and said electronic control unit associated thereto is adapted to rotate together with said running wheel.
