A method for producing x-ray markers. During the process, a predetermined breaking point is severed in order to detach x-ray markers from part of a material layer. There is also described an x-ray marker, a medical implant, and a semifinished product.

X-ray markers for scaffolds

A lubricant includes at least 45 wt % paraffin oil, less than 8 wt % of a pyrophosphate or triphosphate, more than 6 wt % of a group 6 disulfide or diselenide and up to 27.5 wt % of graphite. The lubricant is used in a method for producing a magnesium alloy tube via extrusion, and is especially useful to form implants such as stents while maintaining the biocompatibility of the magnesium alloy.

To effectively prevent accelerated degradation due to the formation of a local cell of the material of the body and the functional element, the at least one functional element includes a first layer at least in the region of its surface where it is bonded to the body, the first layer primarily containing at least one metal oxide. An orthopedic implant, such as a bone screw with a self-tapping thread, is formed of a biodegradable material such as a magnesium alloy. A bioactive surface coating is provided on the implant, such as at the threading. The production of microstructured surfaces in magnesium alloys, containing zinc as the major alloying element, in particular in absorbable implants such as stents, wherein microstructures in sizes of up to 5 &#x3bc;m (micrometers) are generated on a magnesium alloy base body of the absorbable implant, for example of the absorbable stent, by way of optionally combined, pickling and electrochemical micropolishing processes, and allow better adhesion of a polymer coating (including higher break resistance) and higher corrosion resistance. The microstructured surface is produced out of the bulk material and exhibits no delamination from the base material during the mechanical deformation of the implant.

The present invention relates to an implant, in particular an intraluminal endoprosthesis, the body of which comprises at least predominantly a material with iron as the main constituent. For accelerating the degradation, the material comprises sulfur as first minor constituent with a concentration of more than 0.2% by weight and not more than 1% by weight, preferably not more than 0.5% by weight, and comprises as second minor constituent at least one element of the group which comprises calcium, manganese and magnesium. Furthermore, a method for producing such an implant is described.

The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing an implant, in particular an intraluminal endoprosthesis, with a body containing metallic material, preferably iron. The method includes the following steps to control degradation of the implant: (i) providing the body of the implant; and (ii) tribochemically treating at least part of the body surface by means of beam particles. An implant produced in this way is also described.
