Motor saw

A de-vibration element for a handle portion of a motor saw includes a coil spring (10, 30) which is attached between the saw body (19, 39) and the handle portion (13) by an attachment device provided at each end of the spring. In order to increase the resilience of the spring during small load one of the attachment devices includes with an articulated connection which preferably, a ball joint (15, 17; 35, 37).

The invention relates to a starting apparatus for an i.c. engine comprising a driving clutch member (21) journalled and axially movable on a shaft, a bushing or the like (22), and cooperating with a second driven clutch member (23) on the flywheel of the engine. The axial movement of the driving clutch member, effected by pulling a starting rope (15), is provided by screw surfaces (25), when exposed to a relative rotary movement on the shaft, the bushing or the like. This movement is caused by a Bendix spring (27) braking the rotation of said first clutch member as it is wound in the rotary direction of the engine and fixed to the body of the starting apparatus. The spring is pretensioned to provide an axial, resilient force actuating the driving clutch member to return to its initial position when disengaged from the driven clutch member.

Starting apparatus

In a supporting device for the steering mechanism of a clearing saw it is possible to turn the steering mechanism from a working position to a transport position by securing the steering mechanism between two washers (15,16) provided with a cylindrical recess (17). The washers have oblong, arched grooves (21,22) penetrated by screws (19,20) threaded in the body (10) of the device.

Damping device for a vibration damping system in chain saws having an adjustment spring characteristic for various applications. The element (10) according to the invention is an elongated elastomer element attached in the middle of a handle part and fastened at one end to the driving side of the crankcase. The second end enters into a cylindrical cavity (20) formed in the crankcase wall supporting the start apparatus, said cavity having a larger diameter than the element. In that way the characteristic of the element is primarily determined by the end fastened to the driving side but gradually, when the load on the element increases, also by the end entered into the cavity.

The invention relates to an arrangement of an oil pump for manual control of the oil quantity and consists of a supplement to the known way of operating the piston stroke with a control member (28) which, when working, is capable of guiding a setting of a maximum movement of the pump piston (11).
