A laser sintering device and a laser sintering method are provided. The laser sintering device includes a laser source and a sintering platform. The laser source projects a laser beam on a plane, and by changing directions of the laser beam an action area on the plane is defined. The sintering platform provides a sintering area. The sintering platform is arranged in such a way that at least a first region of the sintering area is located within the action area and at least a second region of the sintering area is located outside the action area. The sintering platform is movable such that at least a part of the second region replaces at least a part of the first region within the action area.

Laser sintering technique for manufacturing items on a movable sintering platform

A laser built up method on an object with different surfaces is provided. The object can be coated locally, which is not possible by the conventional rapid prototyping processes. The object is put into a powder bed, powder is provided on or near the object and the powder is only locally provided on the upper outer surface of the object and then densified.

Laser build up method using vibration and apparatus

An arrangement for depositing coating powder on a rotational symmetric body is provided. The arrangement includes a rotation device for rotating the rotational symmetric body around a horizontal axis of rotation, wherein the horizontal axis of rotation coincides with the axis of the rotational symmetry of the body, a nozzle arranged vertically above a surface of the rotational symmetric body for providing the coating powder to the surface and a horizontal barrier at a specified distance defining a coating thickness above the surface, wherein the barrier is arranged next to the nozzle in the direction of a rotational movement of the surface at the nozzle. At this point, the nozzle includes a cross section elongated in one direction parallel to the axis of rotation.
