A vacuum switch device has a housing body, a stationary electrical contact and a moving electrical contact, which is arranged within the housing body. With a movement of the moving contact towards the stationary contact, the contacts form an electrical contact. With a movement away the electrical contact is interrupted. A sliding bearing provides sliding support for the moving contact for its movement towards and away from the stationary contact. The sliding bearing has an electrically conductive material and at least partially electrically insulates the housing body. A spring element is supported on a spring support and presses the moving electrical contact in the direction of the stationary electrical contact. There is also provided a circuit with a main current path and a parallel auxiliary current path. The vacuum switch device is arranged in the auxiliary current path.

A control rod system has a control or drive rod and at least one compensation element for vacuum interrupters, in particular for gas-insulated switchgear. The at least one compensation element has at least one hermetically sealed bellows. The at least one hermetically sealed bellows is either connected to the drive rod at at least one point, or is connected to or can be coupled to the drive rod via at least one engagement device and the engagement device is connected or can be connected to the at least one compensation element in a fixed or engaging manner.

A method for operating an electrical switching device and an electrical switching device are disclosed. In order to ensure reliable operation of an electrical switching device having parallel switching paths allocated to a phase, which have lower switching capacity in comparison to conventional parallel switching paths, the zero current crossings in the phase are detected and at least one switching mechanism, operatively connected to the switching paths, is actuated so that all parallel switching paths allocated to the phase open within a window of time which is in the phase relative to the zero current crossings.

A switching contact, of a vacuum interrupter including support bodies, includes an additional support body which has the shape of a truncated cone or of a hollow truncated cone or of a partially hollow truncated cone. The additional support body is offset from a first location or region on the bottom of the contact carrier, located in the notional extension of the contact rod and inside the contact carrier, to a second location or region, located on the side of the contact plate facing the contact carrier and on the outer edge of the contact plate in relation to the first region.
