A method for triggering solenoid valves assigned to gas-exchange valves in an electrohydraulic valve activation of an internal combustion engine having a plurality of combustion chambers. The solenoid valves assigned to the gas-exchange valves may be activated independently of each other. To this end, crankshaft-synchronous trigger signal for solenoid valves of the internal combustion engine are ascertained in a control unit and transmitted to an output stage. The output stage controls the solenoid valves on the basis of the transmitted trigger signals. Each combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine has at least one intake valve and at least one discharge valve as gas-exchange valve. All solenoid valves of all gas-exchange valves of a combustion chamber form a solenoid-valve set. One activation profile in each case is specified for all solenoid valves of a solenoid valve set. In the control unit, a crankshaft-synchronous activation signal is ascertained for each combustion chamber and supplied to the output stage. The output stage triggers the solenoid valves of the solenoid-valve set on the basis of the activation signal of the cylinders according to the activation profile stored for the individual solenoid valve.

Method and control device for triggering solenoid valves assigned to gas-exchange valves

A method for controlling and/or regulating a d.c. converter for at least two electromagnetic valves of an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle is provided. A current generated by the d.c. converter is supplied to each valve. A determination is made as to when the total currents supplied to the valves constitute a high load for the d.c. converter. If this is the case, the d.c. converter is influenced in the sense of better processing of the high load.

Method for controlling and/or regulating a constant voltage converter for at least two electromagnetic valves of an internal combustion engine, especially an internal combustion engine in a motor vehicle

In an hydraulic actuator, a movement of an actuating element of the actuator is effected in that a working chamber of the actuator, with the aid of a valve device, is able to be selectively connected to, and disconnected from, a fluid reservoir in which pressurized hydraulic fluid is stored. The lift of the actuating element of the actuator is a function of a fluid volume present in the working chamber. It is provided that, to ascertain an instantaneous operating performance of the actuator, the working chamber is briefly connected to the fluid reservoir, the corresponding pressure drop in the fluid reservoir is recorded, and the corresponding lift is determined from the pressure drop with the aid of known geometrical variables of the actuator.

Method for operating a hydraulic actuator, especially a gas exchange valve of an internal combustion engine

A device for monitoring at least two electromagnetic valves of an internal combustion engine in a motor vehicle. An actual current that is independent of the other valves may be supplied to each valve. A setpoint current is preselected for each valve. Measuring devices are provided for measuring the actual currents supplied to the valves. A control unit is used to add the measured actual currents to yield a total actual current. Due to the control unit, the setpoint currents are added to yield a total setpoint current and compared to the total actual current. This comparison is used by the control unit for monitoring the valves and/or their interconnections.

A method and device for triggering a solenoid valve for injecting fuel into an internal combustion engine is described. The triggering phase of the solenoid valve is subdivided into a pull-up phase and a holding phase. During the pull-up phase, a valve needle of the solenoid valve is caused to open by a first current intensity flowing through a magnetic coil of the solenoid valve. During the holding phase, the valve needle is held in the open state by a second, lower current intensity flowing through the magnetic coil. At least once at the beginning of the pull-up phase, a booster phase is activated during which a pulse-shaped booster current from a booster capacitor charged to a high voltage flows through the magnetic coil. During the triggering phase of the solenoid valve, a plurality of booster pulses are activated in succession, whose time position within the triggering phase is freely selectable.

Method and device for triggering a fuel injector

A connection between a shaft end of a gas exchange valve of an internal combustion engine and a final control element of a valve actuator, with at least two shell-shaped wedge-shaped pieces, surrounding the shaft end and braced on the final control element, whose radially outer circumferential surface extends conically and which are surrounded by at least one conical clamping sleeve whose radially inner circumferential surface extends complimentary to the cone angle of the wedge-shaped pieces, wherein on the radially inner circumferential surface of the wedge-shaped pieces and on the radially outer circumferential surface of the shaft end of the gas exchange valve, protrusions and recesses that mesh with one another are provided. To enable rotary motions of the shaft end relative to the wedge-shaped pieces, the latter adjoin one another without gaps in the circumferential direction, forming an encompassing wedge-shaped sleeve, whose inside diameter is slightly larger than the outside diameter of the shaft end of the gas exchange valve, and that the protrusions and recesses mesh with one another with slight play.

Connection between a shaft end of a gas exchange valve of an internal combustion engine and a final control element of a valve actuator

A method and a device for driving at least one solenoid valve used for controlling the injection of fuel into an internal combustion engine. At the start of the driving (activation), the solenoid valve is supplied with a booster voltage that is elevated as compared to that used for the further driving. The energy and/or power output received by the solenoid valve at the start of the driving is able to be influenced as a function of the operating state of the internal combustion engine.
