When the user moves to a second communications system, he identifies himself in it as a guest. Information relating to the temporary address of the relevant person is transferred to his home system. An incoming call to the person in question is received by the home system which forwards the call to the system in which the person sought is temporarily registered. The caller is then notified that a call is coming in by a call signal being originated. The called party then answers the call and a normal call is set up. With an outgoing call, signals are transferred from the caller to the network which registers who is establishing the call. The registration is carried out on the basis of a call occurring from a certain subscription, or person, regardless of whether the call is established from the home system or as guest in another system. The system then registers the length of the call and debits the subscriber at his home address.

Arrangement with a short-range radio system

A device and a procedure for a telecommunications system that makes possible the introduction of a general personal telephone number which functions in both fixed and mobile networks as well as in cordless access systems connected to these networks. A condition for this personal number is a central network node located at, or in connection to, these telecommunications networks (7), preferably PSTN, ISDN, GSM, NMT, without influencing network functions, numbering schemes, terminals in these networks. For a call to a subscriber located in any telecommunications network, the call, independent of from which telecommunications network the call emanates, is connected to this central network node which converts the received personal number to the specific number corresponding to the telecommunications network at which the subscriber has registered himself/herself, whereafter said network node executes connection of the call to the current access point which corresponds to the specific number.

Telecommunications system and method enabling use of a general personal

A method and an arrangement for semipermanent storage of a service profile in personal communication systems. A service profile which defines the services accessible to the user is tied to each user in the system. The service profiles are stored permanently in the home database of the respective user. To reduce signalling in the network, parts of the permanent service profiles are copied in order to be stored semipermanently in other databases according to the disclosed method. Enquiries relating to an answering user are tracked by the database unit in the home network part of the answering user in order to detect the geographic position of the network nodes which originate the enquiries and the respective enquiry intensity. Information from the service profile of a respective answering subscriber is copied and sent to the database unit which is located closest to the enquiring node when the enquiry intensity has reached a certain value from one and the same node.
