A gateway is provided with configuration management logic to identify a set of configurations corresponding to a deployment of a particular application, and automatically send corresponding configuration data to a set of devices in range of the gateway. Service management logic of the gateway determines that assets on the set of devices correspond to one or more asset abstractions defined for the particular application, where the configuration data is sent to the set of devices based on the assets corresponding to the asset abstractions. Sensor data is received during the deployment as generated by a sensor asset of one of the devices, the sensor data is processed according to service logic of the particular application to generate a result, and actuating data is generated and sent during the deployment to an actuator asset on the set of devices based on the result.

Automated configuration of machine-to-machine systems

Embodiments of techniques, apparatuses, systems and computer-readable media for consuming services for a user equipment (UE) apparatus are disclosed. In some embodiments, a first signal at a second signal are received respectively from a first and a second beacon apparatus, the signals indicating a service associated with the respective beacon apparatuses, and a list of neighboring services proximately disposed to the respective beacon apparatuses, a list is generated and displayed at the UE apparatus in accordance with ranking criterion of the lists and the first and second signal strengths of the first and second signals received at the UE. A method is described for determining a position of a user device in relation to a vehicle, the vehicle including first and second receivers. The method includes transmitting a positioning signal by the transmitter of the user device, receiving the positioning signal by the first receiver and by the second receiver arranged at a distance from the first receiver, in at least one of the first and second receivers, receiving and identifying a reflected positioning signal reflected at a ground surface before reaching the first and second receivers, performing time synchronization between the transmitter and the first and second receiver, determining a position of the user device in a three-dimensional coordinate system based on a time-of-flight of the positioning signal received in the first and second receivers and on a time-of-flight of at least one reflected positioning signal received by at least one of the first and second receivers.

Method and system for determining the position of a user device in relation to a vehicle

A time server device may send a first message to a client device, capturing and storing the time value of the time server clock when the first message is sent. When the first message is received by the client device, the client device starts a timer. At some later time, the time server device sends a second message to the client device that includes the stored time value. The clock of the client device may be updated based at least in part on the value of the timer and the received time value.

Technologies for migrating an application from a source computing device to a destination computing device using lightweight virtualization includes a migration management module on each of the source and destination computing devices. The migration management module of the source computing device is configured to determine information of dependencies of the application to be migrated and perform a checkpointing operation on the application to generate application checkpoint data. The source computing device is further configured to transmit the dependencies and the application checkpoint data to the destination computing device. The migration management module of the destination computing device is configured to generate a container based on the dependency information and restore the application using the application checkpoint data. The techniques described herein include configuration of channels between devices and service providers at a connectable system platform. For example, a system platform may include a receiver to receive data from a communicatively coupled device. The system platform may include a controller having logic, at least partially comprising hardware logic, to configure communications channels. The communication channels include a communication channel for transmission between the system platform and a service provider to receive the data, and a communication channel for transmission between the system platform and the coupled device. The communication channels are configured based on a context. The context comprises characteristics of the coupled device, content of the data, and security requirements associated with the service provider.

A method in a first device for anonymously delivering data to a part that has initiated a task is provided. The first device and the part initiating a task are participants in opportunistic sensing. The method comprises creating a data sample and encrypting the data sample with a public key of the task initiating part. After communicating the protected sample to one or more intermediate devices, one of the one or more intermediate devices delivers the protected sample to the task initiating part, such that the task initiating part does not know the identity of the first device. The task initiating device only know the identity of the one of the one or more intermediate devices that delivered the protected sample to the task initiating part, wherein the intermediate devices are participants in the opportunistic sensing.

A method for establishing a secured communication channel, between a first processing component and a second processing component; the method comprising executing a digital rights management agent on a processing unit, the digital rights management agent being configured to enforce permissions associated with digital content based on a digital rights management protection mechanism; receiving, by the digital rights management agent at least a security data item, the security data item including a session key data item; verifying authenticity of the received session key data item by the digital rights management agent using said digital rights management protection mechanism; providing the verified session key data item by the digital rights management agent to at least the second processing component; establishing a secured communication channel between the first and second processing components using at least the provided session key data item.
