For exhaust gas recirculation in internal combustion engines operating, for example, with low sulphur marine diesel oil, an exhaust gas cooler with a cooling unit may be applied that uses a liquid injection system to maintain clean and/or clean a cooling surface of the cooling unit. The liquid injection system may provide liquid into an exhaust gas passage upstream of and or along a condensation starting region the cooling surface, thereby reducing the formation of films and deposits from particulate matter and condensing liquid of an evaporated liquid within the exhaust gas such as sulphuric acid and/or water, as those deposits could otherwise at least partially block the exhaust gas cooler.

Exhaust gas cooler

A turbocharged internal combustion engine disclosed that may comprise an engine block with a first end side opposing a second end side and a two-stage turbocharged system. The two-stage turbocharged system may comprise a low-pressure turbocharger with a first turbine and a first compressor and a high-pressure turbocharger with a second turbine and a second compressor. A turbine connection may fluidly connect the first turbine and the second turbine and a compressor connection fluidly connects the first compressor and the second compressor. The low-pressure turbocharger is mounted at the first end side of the engine block and the high-pressure turbocharger is mounted at a second end side of the engine block.

Two-stage turbocharged engine

The present disclosure refers to a turbocharged internal combustion engine with exhaust gas recycling, comprising an intake manifold, an exhaust manifold, a fresh air turbocharger and an exhaust supercharger, wherein the intake manifold is divided by a separating wall into a fresh air passage and an exhaust passage, one of the passages being connected to inlet openings of cylinders of the engine, the fresh air passage being connected to the outlet of the compressor of the fresh air turbocharger, the exhaust passage being connected to the outlet of the compressor of the exhaust supercharger and the separating wall being formed with orifices connecting the two passages.

Turbocharged engine with exhaust gas recycling

An apparatus for controlling valve displacement of an internal combustion engine comprises a rocker arm having a first arm portion and a second arm portion, said rocker arm being pivotable about a pivot interposed between said first and second arm portions. The apparatus further comprises an actuation arrangement adapted to actuate said first arm portion of said rocker arm and a valve arrangement adapted to be actuated by said second arm portion of said rocker arm. A damper arrangement is pivotably connected to said first arm portion and adapted for damping movement of said rocker arm around said pivot.

Device and method for controlling valves

An internal combustion engine is provided that includes a high pressure feed line, and a plurality of fuel injectors fluidly connected to the high pressure feed line, each being operable to inject a fuel into the engine. The engine further includes an electronically controlled flow disabler disposed between the high pressure feed line and each one of the fuel injectors. Each of the flow disablers includes an actuator operable to move a valve member toward a closed position at which the flow disabler blocks a fuel flow to the respective fuel injector.
