A rear area monitoring device for a vehicle includes one or more distance sensors configured to determine the distance of the rear of the vehicle from an obstacle, and at least one electronic control device configured to evaluate the data collected by the distance sensor(s) and to determine a distance signal that indicates the current distance of the rear of the vehicle from the obstacle. The electronic control device includes at least one input connection for a position sensor configured to detect the position of at least one adjustable vehicle component that, in certain positions, projects beyond the rear of the vehicle. The electronic control device is configured to determine the distance signal depending upon the signal of the position sensor.

Rear area monitoring device for a vehicle

An environment monitoring system for a vehicle includes at least two distance sensors for detecting distance by measuring the propagation time of detection signals. The distance sensors are each designed as a transmitting unit and receiving unit for the detection signals and, in a direct operating mode, emit detection signals, receive reflected components of the detection signals emitted by the distance sensors; and emit active measurement signals according thereto. The system also includes a control device that receives the measurement signals of the distance sensors and determines the object distance of a detected object. At least one distance sensor additionally can be operated in an indirect operating mode to detect a detection signal emitted by another distance sensor and reflected by the object and to generate an indirect measurement signal.

Environment monitoring system for a vehicle

A sensor mounting for a distance sensor includes a fixing part for attaching to a vehicle, and a receiving part attached to the fixing part in an adjustable manner in order to receive the distance sensor. The receiving part is adjustable into at least two different angular positions on the fixing part.

Mounting for a distance sensor

A vehicle for transporting passenger cars has an adjustable loading ramp for loading and unloading passenger cars. The loading ramp can be placed in at least two positions. One position is a travel position and is to be set when the passenger car transport is traveling. The passenger car transport also has an electronic monitoring system that includes at least one monitoring sensor operable to sense whether the loading ramp is in the travel position. The electronic monitoring system employs monitoring electronics configured to evaluate the signals of the monitoring sensor and to transmit to a display device corresponding information indicating whether or not the loading ramp is in the travel position.

Passenger car transport

A system for monitoring the area surrounding a vehicle, especially behind the vehicle and/or a connected trailer. The system includes distance sensors, which are arranged in a main plane and in at least one additional plane, for detecting objects in the respective monitoring region that pose a risk of collision and/or that limit passage height and/or width. The system also includes a device that evaluates the distance sensor signals to ascertain the current distance of the vehicle from the detected object and to compare the current distance against a predefinable, vehicle-specific setpoint distance value and to output a warning signal if a predefinable difference value therebetween is not reached. To cover the monitoring region both in area and height, additional distance sensors are arranged in at least one additional plane such that objects that cannot be identified by the sensors in the main plane can be detected over the entire width of the vehicle.

Monitoring system for monitoring the surrounding area, in particular the area behind motor vehicles

A control method is provided for a vehicle, especially a utility vehicle trailer, that has at least one lifting axle that can be lowered and raised in a controllable manner and/or at least one steered axle that can be locked and unlocked in a controllable manner, and that also has a control device operable to control the lifting axle and/or the steered axle. When the vehicle is traveling in reverse, the control device automatically generates a control signal that lowers the lifting axle, and/or automatically generates a control signal that unlocks the steered axle. The control device can be embodied as an electronic control unit having a processor suitably programmed to carry out the foregoing process steps. The control device can be incorporated into a vehicle control system for a vehicle having an anti-lock braking system or an electronically controlled braking system.

Vehicle axle control method, device and system

A control arrangement for a trailer vehicle comprises a brake system, a lighting system, a control device for controlling the lighting system, and a data transfer system for transferring data between the control device and the brake system. The control device and the brake system are arranged such that information about the status of the lighting system is transferred to the brake system by means of the control device, and/or information about the brake system is transferred to the control device for changing the status of the lighting system.

Trailer vehicle connection arrangement

An apparatus and method for effecting wheelbase adjustment for utility vehicles having one or more axles with wheels, includes one or more adjustment mechanisms to which compressed air can be applied. The adjustment mechanism(s) adjust at least one of the axles in relation to the body of the vehicle. A pressure sensor measures the pressure of the compressed air in the adjustment mechanism(s) and generates corresponding pressure signals. A pulse-controlled valve or, alternatively, a spring-return valve, is employed to optionally feed the compressed air into the adjustment mechanism(s) and discharge the compressed air from the adjustment mechanism(s).
