Apparatus for strapping articles, wherein the band channel () of the band guiding frame () is covered by profile strips, which consist of an elastic material, preferably an elastically curing polyurethane elastomer casting mass, into which are embedded wear and/or sliding elements in the form of metal helical spring elements (), the helical spring axes of which run essentially parallel to the band channel (), and the coils of which project a little bit from the elastic material into the interior () of the band channel and form curved sliding surfaces () running essentially transversely to the band channel, so that the strapping band essentially only comes into contact with the metallic sliding surfaces of the spring elements during the exit from the band channel, and thereby does not damage the elastic material of the profile strips.

The device tensions and closes strapping bands for packaging and suchlike. It has a band channel open longitudinally on one side in the longitudinal direction of the strapping band, a band tensioning device acting in the area of the band channel and a closing device which joins the band ends lying on top of each other in a tensioned state in the band channel. In order to ensure that correct tensioning rate, band tension, welding time, holding time and/or other band closing parameters in each case, the device is provided with a sensor device recording the width of the strapping band and a processing and adjusting unit interacting therewith, with which the band closing parameters are automatically adjusted as a function of the band width.

A packaging machine for wrapping packing pieces with packing film. The packing machine includes a transport device for the packing pieces, at least one unspooling device for unspooling the packing film wound on a roller, a film welding and cutting unit, and a film buffer arranged between the film welding and cutting unit and the unspooling device. The film support is formed of a flexible, anti-static material which ensures particularly easy pulling off of the packing film from the film buffer. The film support inhibits or prevents the plastic film from incurring a static charge, thereby reducing or eliminating adhesion forces would have to be overcome as a result of electrostatic charges when pulling the plastic film off of the film buffer.

An apparatus for tensioning and closing of a tightening strap for package tightenings. The apparatus comprising a closing device for connecting two ends of the strap and a tensioning device having a tensioning wheel that can be driven, a pressure plate which can be moved against the tensioning wheel or lifted from the tensioning wheel, and a self-adjusting separating element which is arranged between the tensioning wheel and the pressure plate, whereby one end of the strap is taken up between said tensioning wheel and the separating element, and the other end of the strap is taken up between the separating element and said pressure plate, the apparatus further including an unblocking element which displaces the separating element during the lifting of the pressure plate from the tensioning wheel. The displacement being approximately parallel to the two ends of the strap.
