An upright-type vacuum cleaner includes an upper body pivotally connected to a base unit so as to be pivoted during vacuuming or substantially upright in a parked position. The base unit includes a front portion with a suction opening and is equipped with a carriage that allows the vacuum cleaner to be moved across surfaces being cleaned during a vacuuming operation. The carriage includes at least one main wheel disposed in a rear portion of the base unit. An adjusting mechanism is configured to move the main wheel from a first position during vacuuming to a second position in the parked position with the distance from the main wheel to the suction opening being greater in the second position. An actuating element formed on the upper body is configured to engage with a lever linkage assembly of the adjusting mechanism as the upper body is moved to the parked position.

Upright vacuum cleaner

An attachment device for a vacuum cleaner includes a rotatable roller having at least one of bristles or flap-type agitating members. The rotatable roller has an axis of rotation extending transversely to a direction of advancement of the attachment device or vacuum cleaner. A motor is configured to rotate a motor shaft for driving the roller. The motor shaft extends transversely to the axis of rotation of the roller. A gear housing receives at least a portion of the roller and has an opening into which the motor shaft or a drive shaft coupled to the motor shaft extends.

An upright vacuum cleaner for cleaning a surface includes a base unit, a carriage configured to move the base unit on the surface, and an upper body having a dust collection container disposed therein. The upper body is supported so as to be tiltable relative to the base unit and is lockable in a parked position in which the vacuum cleaner has a substantially upright position when standing on the surface. A motor-fan unit is configured to provide a partial vacuum at the surface. An air conduit connecting the base unit and the dust collection container includes an interface and a section formed by a hose or an assembly of the hose and a wand. The section is connected downstream of the interface and is disposed at least partially externally on the upper body. The section is configured to enable a vacuuming mode of operation that is independent of the base unit. A tubular member forming at least part of a transition between the hose and the upper body. The tubular member is swivelably disposed on the upper body.

An upright vacuum cleaner for cleaning a surface includes a base unit with a brush motor and a brush roller drivable by the brush motor. An air conduit leads from the base unit to a dust collection container and includes an interface and a first section downstream of the interface. The first section includes a hose or a hose-and-wand assembly and is arranged externally on an upper body of the vacuum and is also securable to the upper body. A receiving structure on the upper body is configured to receive the first section and is removable from the receiving structure in a region of the interface so as to enable a vacuuming mode of operation that is independent of the base unit. A turning-off device is operable to turn off the brush motor when the first section is removed from the receiving structure.

An upright vacuum cleaner for cleaning a surface. The vacuum cleaner includes an upper body having a dust collection container, a base unit having a suction mouth and a carriage for moving the base unit on the surface. A motor-fan unit is included and is disposed outside the upper body. The motor-fan unit is operable to create a partial vacuum on the surface. A combined coaxial conduit is disposed in a transition region to the upper body. The combined coaxial conduit includes a first air conduit from the suction mouth to the upper body and a second air conduit from the upper body to the motor-fan unit.

An upright vacuum cleaner for cleaning a surface includes an upper body having a dust collection container received therein, a base unit and a carriage configured to provide movement of the base unit at the surface. A motor-fan unit is disposed in the upright vacuum cleaner outside the upper body and is unit configured to create a partial vacuum on the surface. The upper body and base unit are connected with a tilting joint such that the upper body is tiltable relative to the base unit about a tilt axis that extends horizontally when the upright vacuum cleaner is in a position of use. A swivel joint is disposed between the upper body and the base unit. The swivel joint is configured to change a direction of travel of the upright vacuum cleaner in response to twisting of the upper body. The swivel joint includes a tubular section articulated to the base unit and a bearing housing disposed rotatably about the tubular section. The bearing housing is received in a receiving structure of the upper body.

An upright vacuum cleaner for cleaning a surface includes an upper body with a dust collection container received therein and a base unit with a front portion with respect to the travel direction of the vacuum cleaner. At least one electrical load is disposed in the front portion of the base unit. A carriage is provided to move the base unit on the surface. The vacuum cleaner includes a tilting joint operable to provide relative tilting between the upper body and the base unit about a tilting axis that is horizontal when the vacuum cleaner is in a position of use. At least one cable is routed between the upper body and the at least one electrical load. A plurality of cable ducts are disposed in the vicinity of the tilting axis and configured to receive the at least one cable.

An appliance housing for a canister vacuum cleaner having an interior divided into a motor fan chamber and a dust collection chamber includes a flat, upwardly open receiving shell. The receiving shell has a partition dividing the lower housing part into a first bottom portion for the motor fan chamber and a second bottom portion for the dust collection chamber. The second bottom portion includes a surrounding seal portion. An upper housing part in provided including an upwardly and downwardly open, substantially tubular housing insert defining the dust collection chamber. A lower edge of the housing insert is receivable in the surrounding seal portion of the second bottom portion of the lower housing part. A housing cover closes the dust collection chamber.

Housing for a cylinder vacuum cleaner

A vacuum cleaner includes a housing, inside of which is a suction chamber with a suction device and control electronics therein. A structural unit on the housing includes operating elements to operate the vacuum cleaner. There is an opening in the housing to the suction chamber. A support element is included that covers the opening. The support element includes contact strips providing electrical connection to the operating elements. There are plug-in connectors inside the housing connectable with the contact strip that provide a wired connection to the control electronics. The control electronics are cooled by an air stream resulting from the suction device.

A vacuum cleaner includes an appliance housing including a first housing section for a motor fan chamber and a second housing section for a dust collection chamber. Actuating elements for a cord winder device and an ON/OFF switch are disposed on an upper side of the motor fan chamber. A control element for the suction power control is disposed on the upper side of the motor fan chamber. A housing cover is pivotally mounted at a rear portion of the appliance housing via a plurality of hinge arms. The hinge arms cover at least a portion of the motor fan chamber and the actuating elements. The housing covering includes a cover section that covers the dust collection chamber.

Vacuum cleaner

A vacuum cleaner for use with a dust bag provided with a flange adapted to be slidably received in a bracket pivotally mounted in a dust collection chamber between a first position in engagement with a suction opening of the dust collection chamber and a second position removed from the first position. The dust collection chamber is provided with a lid selectively pivotable between open and closed positions. Movement of the lid to its closed position is contingent upon the flange of a dust bag having been inserted into the bracket to release the bracket from a blocking mechanism effective in the second position of the bracket and constituted by an upper edge of the bracket and a groove in the lid.
