A flexible three dimensional display assembly is provided. The flexible display assembly includes electrically interconnected light emitting elements, a flexible lattice fixture and a display bezel. The light emitting elements are electrically interconnected by a system of conductors. The light emitting elements are coupled to the flexible lattice fixture by an arrangement of structurally interconnected framing cells that receive pairs of the light emitting elements. The flexible lattice fixture is secured to the substrate of the display bezel such that the pairs of light emitting elements are maintained in optical alignment with corresponding pairs of apertures of the display bezel.

A LED controller for an LED pixel array includes an image frame buffer to receive image data and a standby image buffer connected to the image frame buffer to hold a standby image. A command and control module connected is configured to substitute the standby image in the standby image buffer for the image in the image frame buffer when image data is unavailable.

A lighting unit includes a power supply that provides a maximum voltage and multiple LED lighting circuits. Each of the LED lighting circuits includes an LED string, multiple switches, a switching sequencer and a switch controller. The LED string includes multiple series-connected emitters having a total forward voltage that exceeds the maximum voltage of the power supply. Each of the switches is coupled in parallel with a respective LED of the LED string. The switching sequencer provides a sequence of switching patterns such that a total forward voltage of simultaneously active LEDs in each switching pattern does not exceed the maximum voltage of the power supply. The switch controller actuates switches according to each of the switching patterns in the sequence. The LED string of each of the plurality of LED lighting circuits is arranged in a two-dimensional array.

Operating an LED matrix where power supply voltage is less than total forward voltage of LEDs

The invention describes a flexible lighting strip comprising a multitude of light-emitting diodes arranged in at least two groups. Each group comprises at least two light-emitting diodes arranged in an electrical series connection. The at least two groups are arranged in parallel to an anode track and a cathode track. The at least two groups are arranged in a longitudinal arrangement such that a last light-emitting diode of a first group is arranged next to a first light-emitting diode of a second group. The anode track and the cathode track each consist of a wire line having substantially circular wires that are bent to receive compressive and/or tensile stress. The electrical circuit provides a third wire line having a substantially circular wire as a center line arranged between the outer lines. At least one light-emitting diode of every group is mounted on an interposer which contracts all three wire lines.

Lighting device

An LED lighting package is described that contains a first LED string with a plurality of series-connected light-emitting diodes and a first linear regulator arranged to determine the current through the first LED string. At least one further LED string includes a plurality of series-connected light-emitting diodes of a different color, and a further linear regulator is arranged to determine the current through that LED string. The different colored LED strings are connected in parallel. A common voltage supply is used for the LED strings. The number of light-emitting diodes in the first LED string exceeds the number of light-emitting diodes in each further LED string (, and the number of light-emitting diodes in each LED string is chosen such that the total forward voltage of a further LED string is essentially the same as the total forward voltage of the first LED string.

The lighting elements of one group are electrically connected in series. The groups are electrically connected in parallel in order to control each group individually.

Method of manufacturing an OLED device

The invention relates to a lighting device comprising at least two light-emitting elements and a method of producing a lighting device. The light-emitting elements are connected with each other into a module via a connection element. The connection element has at least one region spaced apart from the at least two light-emitting elements. At least two modules are connected with each other in parallel. The at least one region of the connection element has a specific electrical resistance that compensate differences between electrical characteristics of at least two light-emitting elements.

Lighting device and method for production thereof

A LED controller for an LED pixel array includes a serial interface to an external data bus, along with an address generator connected to the serial interface and the LED pixel array. An image frame buffer is connected to the interface to receive image data and further connected to the address generator to receive an image frame buffer address. A command and control module is connected to the serial interface and configured to modify image frame buffer output signals. A calibration data storage module is connected to the command and control module to store calibration data related to pixel voltage response in the LED pixel array.

A lighting system includes a plurality of lighting units. Each lighting unit includes a unit control circuit and a lighting element. The unit control circuit is disposed to store at least one lighting scenario. The lighting scenario comprises a succession of settings of intensity and/or color of the lighting element. A system control circuit is disposed to transmit an execute signal to one or more of the lighting units. The unit control circuit is disposed to control, upon reception of the execute signal, the lighting element according to the lighting scenario. The lighting units are connected to a common electrical power supply via two conductors. The execute signal is transmitted from the system control circuit to the lighting units wirelessly or via the two conductors.
