A molded synthetic composition is presented having at least 25% by weight synthetic surfactants, at least 30% by weight non-surface-active organic plasticizers and fillers, and 5 to 30% by weight of talcum. The composition provides improved moldability and initial foam quality.

A shaped soap composition is presented having 60 to 85 percent of an alkali metal soap of linear C,fatty acid, 1 to 10 percent alkyl oligoglycoside and 5 to 20 percent talcum. The shaped soap as a smooth surface and exhibits improved washing properties and lime soap dispersion power.

Improved mouldability and surface smoothness is provided for moulded detergent compositions, for example bar soaps, containing from 30 to 70% by weight of a sodium C.sub.12 -C.sub.18 alkyl sulfate, from 5 to 25% by weight of a C.sub.12 -C.sub.18 fatty alcohol, from 5 to 25% by weight palmitic and/or stearic acid, optionally partially saponified, and from 1 to 30% by weight of an .alpha.-sulfofatty acid salt corresponding to the following formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is a linear C.sub.9 -C.sub.21 alkyl group, A is an alkali metal, ammonium or alkanolammonium cation, and B is hydrogen or has one of the meanings of A.
