The fire-protection glazing includes at least two glass panes, between which a transparent layer of a fire-protection layer is arranged, wherein the fire-protection layer includes a hydrogel. The educts of the fire-protection layer include water-soluble, non-toxic monofunctional monomers in an acid environment as well as at least one bifunctional or polyfunctional monomer and, as the case may be, an initiator, in an aqueous salt solution or in an aqueous salt dispersion. The monofunctional and the bifunctional or polyfunctional monomers are not toxic, not carcinogenic and not mutagenic.

A flame-retardant composite glass including a plurality of glass panes and a flame-retardant intermediate layer that is arranged between two first glass panes and includes a flame-retardant material that foams or swells up in the event of a fire, as well as an attack-resistant layer having a transparent plastic that is solid at room temperature. The flame-retardant composite glass has, between the first glass panes, an edge compound extending along and around the edges such that a chamber filled with said flame-retardant material is defined by the first glass panes and the edge compound. Between at least one of the first glass panes and the flame-retardant material, a primer layer is arranged that includes a material whose adhesion to the flame-retardant intermediate layer and/or to the glass pane becomes weaker in flame-retardant test conditions than it is in room temperature conditions.

The present invention relates to a fire-resistant pane, including at least one float glass pane with a tin bath side and at least one protective layer that is arranged on the tin bath side in a planar manner, wherein the float glass pane and the protective layer are thermally tempered or partially tempered together. At least one alkaline fire-resistant layer is arranged on the protective layer in a planar manner. The protective layer contains metal oxide, metal nitride, and/or mixtures or layered compounds thereof. At least one edge sealing is arranged directly on the protective layer.

A method for producing a protective element including the following steps is provided: mixing an aqueous, curable alkali silicate solution with silicon dioxide nanoparticles to form a filler having a first water content; performing thin-film evaporation of part of the water of the filler until the filler has a second water content that is less than the first water content, wherein the filler is flowable at the second water content; pouring the filler having the second water content into an intermediate space between two transparent substrate elements; and curing the filling mass in the intermediate space between the substrate elements while maintaining the second water content.

Protective element and method for the production thereof

The removal of partial areas of a coating () on at least one surface () of a glass pane () takes place by means of a plasma jet () which emerges from a plasma nozzle (). The plasma nozzle () is part of a plasma unit and two such plasma units are provided. Both of the plasma nozzles () are oriented towards each other and form a pair of nozzles. A glass pane () is machined between both of the nozzles (). A distance sensor () is arranged on both of the nozzles (), and said nozzles () are positioned at the correct distance in relation to the surface () of the glass pane ().

Method and device for strip and flat-shaping machining surfaces of glass panes

A glazing assembly for protecting against fire exhibits at least two panes adhesively bonded together via a spacer and a water-comprising intermediate layer which fills the intermediate space between the panes. The spacer is composed of a string, applied by extrusion over the peripheral region of a pane, made of a butyl polymer obtained from 40 to 65% by weight of polyisobutylene, from 10 to 25% by weight of carbon black and from 10 to 40% by weight of filler. Within these ranges, the composition is chosen so that the butyl polymer exhibits, at a temperature of 80&deg; C., a transverse or shear modulus of elasticity of G* of 1.2 to 2.2 MPa.

A fire-resistant laminated glass pane assembly comprises a glass-ceramic pane resistant to high temperatures and having rough light-diffusing surfaces, the said pane being joined, on each of its two faces, to a silicate glass pane by means of transparent intermediate layers having a refractive index corresponding to the refractive index of the glass and the glass-ceramic. Transparent intermediate plies consist of a thermoplastic polymer having a high splinter fixation effect, and the silicate glass panes consist of tempered float glass. Fire-retarding glasses of this type not only have a high fire-retarding effect, but also withstand the so-called extinguishing water test and, moreover, have safety glass properties with increased safety in respect of injuries caused by splinters.

A glazing made of at least one glass layer and at least one transparent layer of ionomer resin, wherein at least a portion of one face of the at least one transparent layer of ionomer resin is adhered to at least a portion of one face of another layer of the glazing using at least one metal chelate, preferably a metal chelate based primer composition, and the primer composition for use in such a glazing are described, to provide laminated glazings which have improved chock resistance, good optical properties, improved resistance to lamination even during cutting operations, and is economical to produce.
