A separating agent, in particular silicon oil, applied to the surface of a fuser mechanism, preferably in an electrophotographic printing machine. Contamination of the surfaces of the printing media is substantially prevented or reduced when the separating agent is diluted with at least one solvent with a boiling point equal to or greater than 60&#xb0; C., preferably equal to or greater than 100&#xb0; C., but below 160&#xb0; C.

Separating agent for use in a fuser mechanism

The present invention relates to a toner and process for preparing a toner for reproduction of a metallic, preferably golden or silvery, hue by a printing process, especially for electrophotography. A congeneric process and/or a congeneric toner is preserved with regard to its metallic hue and at the same time not to impair the essential properties of the toner for the printing process in which it is to be used. At least one metallic pigment is provided with a coating of silicate and subsequently with an organic layer and combining the thus obtained particle with toner material.

A carrier or substrate for a photoconductor to be used for the formation of an electrophotographic recording element, particularly an imaging drum for an electrophotographic printing press, wherein the carrier is made of a metal or a metal alloy, preferably of aluminum, is prepared wherein the surface of the carrier supporting the photoconductor, used to form a barrier layer, is oxidized, preferably by etching and/or anodizing. The oxidized surface of the barrier layer is sealed with a sealing material following oxidation, and a preservative or impregnating agent is used as the sealing material.

Manufacturing a coating for an impression cylinder whereby a carrier and a cylinder shape is provided. A hollow cylinder is positioned between the carrier and the cylinder shape, and material to form the coating in the spaces is introduced between the carrier and the hollow cylinder (the internal field) and between the hollow cylinder and the cylinder shape (the external field). The hollow cylinder is removed at a certain pre-selected velocity from between the carrier and the cylinder shape.
