Exemplary embodiments are provided of antennas and antenna systems including the same. In an exemplary embodiment, an antenna generally includes an upper radiating patch element, a ground plane spaced apart from the upper radiating patch element, and a feed point positioned adjacent the ground plane. A first feeding element electrically couples (e.g., via proximity coupling or direct galvanic coupling) the upper radiating patch element to the feed point. A second feeding element electrically couples (e.g., via proximity coupling or direct galvanic coupling) the upper radiating patch element to the feed point. A shorting element electrically couples (e.g., via proximity coupling or direct galvanic coupling) the upper radiating patch element to the ground plane. In other exemplary embodiments, the antenna systems include one or more ground planes and one or more antennas.

Antenna systems with low passive intermodulation (PIM)

An exemplary embodiment of an multiband antenna assembly includes a printed circuit board having a plurality of elements thereon. The plurality of elements may include a radiating element, a matching element, a feed element configured to be operable as a feeding point for the multiband antenna assembly, and a shorting element configured to be operable for electrically shorting the radiating element to ground. The antenna assembly may be operable within at least a first frequency range and a second frequency range different than the first frequency range without requiring any matching lump components coupled to the printed circuit board.

Multiband antenna assemblies

According to various aspects, exemplary embodiments are disclosed of ground independent multi-band antenna assemblies. In an exemplary embodiment, a ground independent multi-band antenna assembly is operable within at least a first frequency range and a second frequency range different than the first frequency range. The antenna assembly generally includes an annular ground element, a feed element, a patch element, and a high band element. The feed element includes a feeding point and a shorting point electrically connected to the annular ground element. The patch element is electrically shorted to the annular ground element by the feed element. The high band element is electrically connected to the feed element.

Ground independent multi-band antenna assemblies

Exemplary embodiments are provided of multiple-antenna systems with enhanced and/or good isolation and directivity. In one exemplary embodiment, a system generally includes a ground plane and two or more antenna elements coupled to the ground plane. The system also includes two or more low frequency isolators/reflectors and two or more high frequency isolators/reflectors coupled to the ground plane.
