The present invention provides a system for conducting agricultural operations in a field using one or more autonomous vehicles in which the agricultural operations may be optimized during run time. The system includes providing a mission plan for an autonomous vehicle, receiving progress updates from the vehicle as it conducts an agricultural operation according to the mission plan, and monitoring for event conditions which may be reported by the vehicle. Event conditions may include, for example, detection of an obstacle, or an oncoming vehicle, or a disablement of the vehicle. Upon receiving an event condition, the system may revise the mission plan to resolve the event condition while providing an optimization based on current agricultural conditions.

System for conducting an agricultural operation using an autonomous vehicle

The present invention provides a system for conducting agricultural operations in a field using autonomous vehicles in which a collision avoidance mechanism may be provided. The system may include providing a mission plan for autonomous vehicles to conduct agricultural operations, establishing a hierarchy for the vehicles, and monitoring for an event conditions indicating vehicles are traveling toward a collision with respect to one another. Upon receiving an event condition, the system may revise the mission plan to adjust a path of one of the vehicles based on the hierarchy in order to avoid the collision.

System for avoiding collisions between autonomous vehicles conducting agricultural operations

A system shares a telematics access point between agricultural or industrial machines or vehicles utilizing short-range wireless connection devices for each of the machines or vehicles. The short-range wireless connection devices create a short-range local wireless network and transmit status messages from each of the machines or vehicles, indicating whether the machine or vehicle to which each short-range wireless connection device is connected has a cellular telematics modem and an active valid subscription for cellular internet access. At least one telematics access point is chosen from among the machines or vehicles having a modem and a subscription. The wireless connection devices transmit data and informatics to the telematics access point. The telematics access point transmits the data and informatics to a back-office server using the cellular telematics modem by way of a telecommunication system.

An agricultural vehicle system including a towing vehicle and an implement towed by the towing vehicle. The towing vehicle supplying pressurized hydraulic fluid to the implement. The implement includes a chassis, an electrical generation device carried by the chassis and a hydraulic flow control system. The electrical generation device has a hydraulically driven motor coupled to the pressurized hydraulic fluid. The hydraulic flow control system is configured to alter a flow of the hydraulic fluid to the motor and to maintain a speed of the motor, with the speed being dependent upon a configuration input defining a configuration of the implement to which the electrical generation device is coupled.

A control system for an agricultural vehicle includes a first transceiver configured to receive a first signal from a second transceiver of a target vehicle. The first signal is indicative of a first determined position and a first determined velocity of the target vehicle. The control system also includes a controller communicatively coupled to the first transceiver. The controller is configured to automatically control the agricultural vehicle by determining a target position and a target velocity of the agricultural vehicle based at least in part on the first determined position and the first determined velocity of the target vehicle, instructing an automated steering control system and an automated speed control system to direct the agricultural vehicle toward the target position, and instructing the automated steering control system and the automated speed control system to substantially maintain the target position and the target velocity upon substantially reaching the target position.

System and method for coordinated control of agricultural vehicles

An improved system for tracking the application of crops and field amendments being applied to fields is disclosed. A series of passive communication devices are included in products being applied to the field. As seed and other products are supplied to the field, the passive communication devices are delivered to the field as well. A reader is mounted to the agricultural vehicle and is in communication with the passive devices to read data stored on each device. The data may include the type and variety of product in which the passive devices were supplied. A controller on the vehicle receives data from the reader to identify what product has been applied to the field. The controller may store data on any additional product subsequently applied to the field and/or may verify that subsequent product is acceptable for application to a crop in the field prior to application.

Automated tracking and identification in a crop production cycle

A transport vehicle arrangement includes a transport vehicle, a transport implement coupled with the transport vehicle, a sensor arrangement for establishing an angular orientation of the transport implement relative to the transport vehicle, a wireless receiver for receiving harvester information related at least to the speed and direction of an agricultural harvester vehicle, and an electrical processing circuit coupled with the sensor arrangement and the wireless receiver. The electrical processing circuit is configured for steering the transport vehicle arrangement in a reverse direction such that the transport implement is positioned at a desired position relative to an unloading conveyance of the agricultural harvester vehicle, based upon the sensed angular orientation of the transport implement and the harvester information.

A method for automatically generating swath paths and navigating a vehicle along the generated swath paths using a controller includes the steps of: marking a plurality of field boundary points; storing the field boundary points in a memory unit of the vehicle; generating a field boundary defining the plurality of field boundary points connected to one another; selecting an edge of the field boundary as a base swath path; generating a plurality of subsequent swath paths from the base swath path; measuring a set of parameters of the vehicle; and automatically selecting one of the subsequent swath paths for the vehicle to follow based on the set of parameters.

An unloading arrangement includes and agricultural harvester and a transport vehicle arrangement. The agricultural harvester includes an unloading conveyance and a wireless transmitter for transmitting information relating at least to a speed and direction of the harvester. The transport vehicle arrangement includes a transport vehicle; a transport implement coupled with the transport vehicle; a sensor arrangement for establishing an angular orientation of the transport implement relative to the transport vehicle; a wireless receiver for receiving the transmitted information from the harvester; and an electrical processing circuit coupled with the sensor arrangement and the wireless receiver. A control system for an agricultural vehicle includes a controller configured to calibrate alignment of a conveyor outlet of the agricultural vehicle with a storage compartment by receiving a first signal from a user interface indicative of alignment of the conveyor outlet with a first desired point on the storage compartment, determining a first position of the storage compartment relative to the agricultural vehicle upon receiving the first signal, receiving a second signal from the user interface indicative of alignment of the conveyor outlet with a second desired point on the storage compartment, diagonally opposite the first desired point, determining a second position of the storage compartment relative to the agricultural vehicle upon receiving the second signal, and establishing a bounding rectangle having a first corner at the first desired point and a second corner at the second desired point based on the first position and the second position.
