A pill can be positioned on a first housing of a pill splitter. A second housing of the splitter can be pushed downward onto the first housing. A second blade can be secured to the second housing, and the pushing of the second housing downward toward the closed position can split the pill by bringing the second blade toward a first blade with cutting edges of both blades cutting into the pill. Also, the second housing can be configured to slide in a linear direction to split the pill and form a closed pill container space. The pill splitter can include a platform that is configured to move to hide or expose one of the blades. The first housing may include a spring device integrally formed with a foundation and/or the platform, with the spring device biasing the platform relative to the foundation toward the hiding position.

Blending devices can be used to blend material directly in a container such as a disposable container, such as a paper or plastic cup. In some instances, a disposable container can be coupled to an adapter that includes a blade assembly to blend a food product. The food product can be blended directly within the container when the container is coupled to the adapter and supported with a support sleeve that at least partially surrounds an exterior of the disposable container. In further instances, a stand can selectively couple with multiple different sizes of sleeves and disposable containers to the adapter. The food product can be blended directly within the disposable container without causing damage or flex to the disposable container.

A hand operated device, and improvements thereof, for the removal of unwanted hairs from the nose and ears. The device comprised of a handle body and trigger assembly that, when squeezed between the thumb and fingers, remotely compresses a spring at its end. Which spring can be inserted blindly into the cavities of the nose and ears to grasp and remove the hair thereof.

Blending devices can be used to blend material in a container such as a reusable container or a disposable liner, such as a paper or plastic cup. In some instances, a reusable container can be coupled to an adapter that includes a blade assembly to blend a food product. The food product can be blended directly within the container when the container is coupled to the adapter. In further instances, the reusable container can selectively couple a liner or multiple different sizes of liners to the adapter. The food product can be blended within the liner without any of the food product coming into contact with an interior of the container.

A food mixer is presented having mixing tool detection capability. The food mixer has a base unit with a tool attachment portion, a mixing bowl attached to the base unit, and a motor attached to the base unit. The motor has operational settings and is configured to apply a torque to the tool attachment portion. A mixing tool is removably attached to the tool attachment portion, and a controller unit of the mixer is configured to detect the mixing tool attached to the tool attachment portion and to automatically control the operational settings of the drive motor based on the mixing tool detected. A magnet carrier may be used to detect a magnetic portion of the mixing tool as it moves with respect to a magnetically-sensitive sensor in the base unit.

Programmable wireless control system for mixers

Technology associated with covering, protecting, and positioning portable electronic devices is described. In an example embodiment, a protective cover device includes a flap that is magnetically fastenable to a surface located on a backside of a portable electronic device. The protective cover device also includes a display protector attached to the flap and being positionable in a protective position to substantially cover a display of the portable electronic device. The display protector is articulatable to a position underneath a first side of the portable electronic device in which the flap and the display protector cooperatively prop up the portable electronic device in a landscape viewing position.

Covering, protecting, and positioning a portable electronic device

Blending devices can be used to blend material in a disposable container such as a paper or plastic cup. A blending device may have a jar or container portion that is insertable into a disposable container and that seals its opening. A space within the jar or container portion contains a blending blade assembly that is rotatable to blend material in the disposable container. A shelf or overhanging structure may extend partially over the bottom surface of the jar or container portion to limit movement of material out of the space in the jar or container portion in a vertical and lateral direction to reduce stresses on the container during blending. After blending, the disposable container may be removed from the blending device and the blended material may be served directly in the container. Ducted blending and other flow control devices are also disclosed.

Disposable container blending apparatus and methods

An apparatus for vibration of a person via a vibrating platform. The apparatus includes a support structure that has a fulcrum and a plurality of vibration isolators, a platform that has a central portion and lateral portions, a power assembly coupled to the platform to operably oscillate the platform about the fulcrum, and a base shell that extends around one or more sides of the platform. The central portion of the platform is pivotally coupled to and operably oscillates about the fulcrum of the support structure so that oscillation about the fulcrum causes the lateral portions to alternately rise and fall in a substantially vertical direction. Further, the base shell is mounted to the support structure free-from connectors other than the vibration isolators.

An apparatus for cutting includes a base, a fixed member attached to the base, where the fixed member includes a first cutting wedge, and a lever arm pivotably attached to the base and/or the fixed member at a pivot point. The lever arm includes a second cutting wedge, where the lever arm is positionable between an open position and a closed position. The first cutting wedge and the second cutting wedge are oriented perpendicular to the pivot point and the lever arm rotates to move the second cutting wedge to contact the first cutting wedge. A cutting surface of the first cutting wedge aligns with a cutting surface of the second cutting wedge when the lever arm is in the closed position.

Pill cutting and storage device

A food preparation apparatus is presented that has fast-stop capability. It includes a base unit, a mixing container attached to the base unit, a mixing tool configured to extend into and move within the mixing container, and a motor within the base unit. The motor is configured to provide a torque to the mixing tool. A control unit within the base unit is connected to the motor. A contact sensor is connected to the control unit, and the control unit is configured to stop rotation of the motor when the contact sensor detects a touch of a human hand. In some cases, contact with the mixing tool stops the motor, and in other cases, contact with an outer surface or user interface of the base unit stops the motor.

Emergency stop system for mixers

A food mixing machine appliance is presented for mixing ingredients. The machine has a base unit that can rest on a horizontal surface, a motor positioned in the base unit, a bowl attached to the base unit, and a mixing tool positioned in the bowl. The bowl has a longitudinal axis that extends at an angle that is non-parallel relative to a gravitational direction while the base unit is resting on the horizontal surface, and the mixing tool is operably connected to the motor to receive a torque from the motor and to move within the bowl to mix contents of the bowl. The non-parallel longitudinal axis of the bowl may improve mixing quality and may allow the mixer to better mix small amounts of ingredients in the bowl.
