A spraying system for spraying a fluid includes a nozzle, a valve configured to control fluid flow through the nozzle, a sensor configured to transmit a detection signal upon detection of a target, a user interface configured to receive application rate information and target population information from an operator, and a control system communicatively coupled to the user interface, the sensor, and the valve. The control system is configured to determine a specific volume of fluid per target to be dispensed by the valve based on the application rate information and the target population information input to the user interface, and to transmit a control signal to the valve at least in part in response to receiving the detection signal. The control signal actuates the valve such that the determined specific volume of fluid per target is sprayed by the nozzle on or adjacent to the target.

Systems and methods for determining dispense volume of fluid per target for an agricultural fluid application system

A spraying system for spraying a fluid includes a nozzle assembly configured to spray the fluid in response to receiving a control signal, a sensor configured to transmit a detection signal upon detection of a target, and a user interface configured to receive input from an operator. The spraying system further includes a control system communicatively coupled to the sensor to receive the detection signal from the sensor, the control system configured to transmit the control signal to the nozzle assembly at least in part in response to reception of the detection signal, the control system further configured to determine a fluid band length and an offset distance of the fluid band length from the target based at least in part on information input by the operator to the user interface. The user interface displays a graphic representation of the fluid band length and the offset distance relative to the target.

Systems and methods for determining and visually depicting spray band length of an agricultural fluid application system

A method and system has been developed to individually control the flow of liquid products from any nozzle within a plurality of nozzles using pulse width modulated solenoid actuated valves. The method and system simultaneously controls multiple flow and shutoff related inputs including but not limited to turn radius, nozzle overlap, swath reduction, nozzle spacing, fence row rates, wheel track rates, etc. The method and system will also simultaneously accept one or more external inputs from commercially available application rate control devices where other rate and shutoff inputs may be used, for example, variable rates per boom section based on GIS maps or multiple in-field sensors along the boom. The method and system further incorporates the artificial manipulation of commercial rate controller inputs and outputs to facilitate these individual nozzle control features and benefits without compromising the overall system flow control performed by the commercial rate controller.

Method and system to control flow from individual nozzles while controlling overall system flow and pressure

The CAN communication network has been further developed to manage the high current requirements of the solenoid actuated valves, the large physical length and high number of nozzles used on modern agricultural application equipment and integration and retrofit requirements when used in conjunction with commercially available application rate control devices. A control system for a utility vehicle transmission provides for operator selection of vehicle &ldquo;aggressiveness,&rdquo; or rates of acceleration in response to operator command. The aggressiveness of a vehicle's performance can be controlled by modulating control signals to proportional control valves, which determine the transmission acceleration, according to two or more electrical ramp-up (or ramp-down) profiles, in response to an operator's acceleration command (or deceleration command). The transmission control system includes a controller, directional switches and electro-hydraulic valves which control hydraulic pressure in the clutch packs in a reverser transmission. The operator is provided with a two-position set switch. With the set switch in the less aggressive position, in response to an operator's command, the software in the controller provides a relatively slow current ramp to energize the control valves. With the switch in the more aggressive position, the current ramps and resultant pressure ramps are faster, thus causing more aggressive transmission operation for the reverser transmission.
