A near-eye display system including an optics module having a projector operable to generate angularly encoded light beams and a camera operable to capture images of an environment, wherein the optics module is operable to convey at least a portion of the light beams to an eyebox. An electronics module having a controller in electrical connection with the optics module, a mounting module located between the electronics module and the optics module, wherein the electronics module is coupled with the optics module via the mounting module, and a first pivot located between the optics module and the electronics module, wherein the optics module is rotatable relative to the electronics module about a first axis. Wherein at least a portion of the optics module is rotatable relative to the electronics module about a second axis oriented transverse to the first axis. Wherein the electronics module includes first and second opposing surfaces, wherein at least a portion of the optics module extends in a first direction, parallel to the second axis, relative to the first surface, and wherein at least a portion of the optics module extends in a second direction opposite the first direction, parallel to the second axis, relative to the second surface.

Near-eye display with pivot waveguide and camera

A mobile electronic system including a left battery section coupled with a left flexible section, a right battery section coupled with a right flexible section, an electronic section coupled with the left flexible section opposite the left battery section, and coupled with the right flexible section opposite the right battery section. The mobile electronic system further including a circuit board located within the electronic section, a first battery located within the left battery section, and a left electrical wire assembly located within the left flexible section. An imaging apparatus for stereoscopic viewing having a frame operable to be reshaped from a first shape to a second shape. A left-eye imaging apparatus and a right-eye imaging apparatus supported by the frame, wherein the left-eye imaging apparatus and the right-eye imaging apparatus have a first relative alignment operable to convey stereoscopic virtual images to the viewer when the frame is in the first shape, and wherein the left-eye imaging apparatus and the right-eye imaging apparatus are arranged at a second relative alignment when the frame is in the second shape. An adjustment mechanism operable to change an angular alignment of one or more components of the left-eye imaging apparatus and/or the right-eye imaging apparatus relative to the frame to restore the first relative alignment of the left-eye imaging apparatus and the right-eye imaging apparatus when the frame is in the second shape.

Image shift correction for binocular virtual imaging apparatus

A wearable display apparatus has a support that mounts the display apparatus against the head of a viewer; a ball joint that is fitted within the support and coupled to a clamp that extends from the support; a slide that is translatable within the clamp in a first direction and that holds a display module for forming the display image; and a display coupled to the display module and rotatable in a first arc about a vertical axis that extends in a second direction that is orthogonal to the first direction and further rotatable in a second arc about a horizontal axis that is substantially orthogonal to the vertical axis.
