A dosing lance assembly for an exhaust component includes: a housing including: a plate having a first aperture, a pipe having a first pipe end coupled to the plate around the first aperture, a second pipe end, and a second aperture, an endcap coupled to the second pipe end, and an elbow coupled to the pipe around the second aperture; an air conduit having a first air conduit end and a second air conduit end coupled to the elbow, the air conduit separated from the pipe at a location between the plate and the endcap; and a delivery conduit extending within the air conduit and coupled to the elbow.

Systems and methods for reductant delivery in aftertreatment systems for internal combustion engines

A dosing lance assembly for an exhaust component includes: a housing comprising: a plate having a first channel, an endcap having a second channel, and a pipe having a first end coupled to the plate and a second end coupled to the endcap, wherein at least a portion of the pipe is airfoil-shaped; and a delivery conduit having a first end coupled to the plate and a second end coupled to the endcap, such that reductant is flowable from the first channel to the second channel.

A reductant insertion assembly for inserting a reductant into an aftertreatment system includes: a pump assembly comprising a pump that includes a pump outlet; a first metering assembly fluidly coupled to the pump outlet, the first metering assembly comprising a first metering manifold; and a second metering assembly fluidly coupled in series with the pump, the second metering assembly being a separate structure from the first metering assembly and comprising a second metering manifold removably coupled to the first metering manifold. The pump is configured to pump the reductant to the first metering assembly, and to the second metering assembly via the first metering assembly.

A dosing module includes a frame assembly, a first manifold, a first dosing tray, and a first rail assembly. The frame assembly includes a plurality of panels. The first manifold is coupled to one of the plurality of panels. The first manifold is configured to separately receive air and reductant. The first manifold includes a first connector extending from the first manifold. The first dosing tray includes a first base panel, a second manifold, and a second connector. The second manifold is coupled to the first base panel. The second manifold is configured to separately receive air and reductant from the first manifold and to provide the air and the reductant back to the first manifold. The second connector extends from the second manifold. The second connector is configured to be selectively coupled to the first connector. The first rail assembly includes a first member and a second member.

Dosing module having removable dosing tray

A dosing lance assembly for an exhaust component includes a housing and a delivery conduit. The housing includes a plate, an endcap, and a pipe. The plate has a first channel. The endcap has a second channel. The pipe has a first end coupled to the plate and a second end coupled to the endcap. The delivery conduit has a first end coupled to the plate and a second end coupled to the endcap, such that reductant is flowable from the first channel to the second channel. When the housing is at an ambient temperature, (i) a length of the delivery conduit is greater than (ii) a first distance between a location at which the first end of the pipe is coupled to the plate and a location at which the second end of the pipe is coupled to the endcap.

A reductant insertion assembly for inserting a reductant into an aftertreatment system comprises a pump assembly including a pump. A first metering assembly is fluidly coupled to the pump. A second metering assembly is fluidly coupled to first metering assembly in series with the pump. The pump is configured to pump the reductant to the first metering assembly, and to the second metering assembly via the first metering assembly, such that a first reductant pressure in the first metering assembly is equal to a second reductant pressure in the second metering assembly.

A dosing module includes: a frame assembly comprising a plurality of panels; a first manifold configured to separately receive reductant and air and including: a first connector, and a second connector; and a dosing tray including: a base panel, a second manifold configured to separately receive the air and the reductant and provide the air and the reductant back to the first manifold, a third connector selectively coupled to the first connector, and a fourth connector selectively coupled to the second connector. When the third connector is coupled to the first connector and the fourth connector is coupled to the second connector, the reductant or air is routed to the first connector, from the first connector to the third connector, from the third connector to the fourth connector, from the fourth connector to the second connector, and from the second connector outside of the dosing module.

Systems and methods for implementing compensation strategies for a dosing module having a removable dosing tray

An aftertreatment system comprises a housing including a housing mounting surface and a mounting aperture defined therein. A frame has a frame first surface, a frame second surface opposite the frame first surface and defines a frame throughhole therethrough. The housing mounting surface is in contact with the frame first surface such that the frame throughhole is axially aligned with the mounting aperture. A biasing member includes a biasing member proximal end contacting the frame second surface proximate to the frame throughhole. A sleeve has a sleeve proximal end which is inserted through the frame throughhole. A sleeve distal end first surface of the sleeve is in contact with a biasing member distal end. A fastener including a fastener proximal end is inserted through the sleeve channel into the mounting aperture and removably coupled to the mounting aperture so that the biasing member is at least partially compressed.

Aftertreatment system mounting assembly

An aftertreatment system comprises a housing having an inlet, an outlet and a sidewall. The housing defines an internal volume structured to receive an exhaust gas via the inlet. The sidewall defines an access opening. An access panel is operatively coupled to the sidewall and covers the access opening. The access panel defines a plurality of throughholes. Each of the plurality of throughholes are configured to receive a fastener therethrough for removably coupling the access panel to the sidewall. An injection port is also defined in the access panel. An injector is positioned on the access panel. The injector is removably coupled to the access panel via a coupling assembly so that the injector is in fluidic communication with the internal volume via the injection port. A SCR system is disposed in the internal volume and includes at least one catalyst formulated to decompose constituents of the exhaust gas.

Aftertreatment system with access panel

An exhaust elbow includes an upstream sidewall defining an upstream portion of the exhaust elbow, a downstream sidewall defining a downstream portion of the exhaust elbow, and a deflector. The upstream portion is configured to receive an upstream exhaust gas. The deflector is coupled to the upstream sidewall of the exhaust elbow upstream and is configured to deflect a portion of the upstream exhaust gas received by the upstream portion of the exhaust elbow away from a region of an interior of the exhaust elbow into which an injected reductant from a dosing module is injected. The deflector may reduce and/or prevent formation of reductant deposits on a downstream sidewall. In some implementations, an exhaust assisted flow separator may also be included to direct a portion of the upstream exhaust gas received by the upstream portion of the exhaust elbow through a dosing opening.

Aftertreatment exhaust separator and/or deflector

Systems and methods to selectively control plurality of dosing modules may include receiving data indicative of an exhaust flow rate. An amount of reductant to be dosed may be determined based, at least in part, on the data indicative of the exhaust flow rate. A decomposition delay time may also be determined and a first dosing module and a second dosing module may be selectively activated. The first dosing module may be selectively activated at a first time and the second dosing module is selectively activated at a second time. The second time is based on the first time and the determined decomposition delay time.

Selective dosing module control system

A diesel oxidation catalyst component may include an inlet, an outlet, and a catalyst chamber body in fluid communication with the inlet and the outlet. An angled jacking bolt assembly is configured to secure a diesel oxidation catalyst within a catalyst chamber defined by the catalyst chamber body. In some implementations, a spacing component or a second diesel oxidation catalyst may be included and secured by the angled jacking bolt assembly. The catalyst chamber body may include an access panel assembly that includes an access panel and securing bolts. The access panel assembly may substantially fluidly seal an opening defined by a mount of the catalyst chamber body when the access panel is secured to the mount by the plurality of securing bolts. The opening may be sized to permit removal of the diesel oxidation catalyst from within the catalyst chamber.
