Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for priority based stand-alone and carrier aggregated frequency band usage. An example method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes: maintaining a high-priority list (HPL) and a low-priority list (LPL) of frequency bands and combinations of frequency bands that are supported by the UE, wherein the HPL and the LPL are based on one or more hardware (HW) components of the UE; and taking one or more actions based on one or more measured parameters of the frequency bands or the combinations of frequency bands and at least one of the HPL and the LPL.

Priority based stand-alone and carrier aggregated frequency band usage

A computer implemented method includes intercepting a packet in a mobile device, the packet having a destination network address. A first virtual private network (VPN) plugin for which the packet is intended is identified out of multiple active VPN plugins. The packet is forwarded to the first VPN plugin. The first packet is forwarded via the VPN tunnel while keeping other VPNs having corresponding other plugins active, enabling multiple remote VPN connections using just one VPN tunnel.

A DNS proxy may tag DNS requests from a virtual network with a separating identifier, such as a virtual network ID, before forwarding them to a shared DNS server. This can allow each virtual network to have its own namespace and avoid naming conflicts. The shared DNS server can examine the tagged DNS requests to respond to the DNS requests using the local namespace as identified by the separating identifier.

In an aspect of the disclosure, a method and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus maybe a first device, e.g., a UE, including at least one processor. In some configurations, the at least one processor is configured to receive a communication, and determine whether the communication is from a contact associated with a restricted group. The at least one processor maybe further configured to perform, based on the determining, one of: blocking an alert corresponding to the communication from being forwarded to a second device, or forwarding the alert corresponding to the communication to the second device. The second device maybe one of a wearable device, a car infotainment unit, a home entertainment unit, or a business conferencing unit, paired with the first device.

Methods and apparatus for selectively providing alerts to paired devices

A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for biometric identification are provided. The apparatus may be a user device. The apparatus may detect biometric information for a predetermined period of time. The predetermined period of time may be set by a hysteresis timer. The apparatus may compare the detected biometric information with stored biometric information associated with a stored user profile of a plurality of user profiles. The apparatus may then determine whether to display the stored user profile based on the comparison after the predetermined period of time has elapsed.

Examples include systems and methods for managing multi-active communication on a multi-subscription multi-standby (MSMS) communication device. The device processor may change a first protocol stack of a first subscription and a second protocol stack of a second subscription of the MSMS communication device to a multi-active mode in response to determining that all of one or more packet data network connections of the first subscription are transferred to a Wi-Fi communication link.

Methods, systems, and devices are described for detecting a communications network or assisting in the detection of a communications network. In a method for detecting a communications network, a beacon received from a device over a wireless local area network (WLAN) may be decoded to identify an information element (IE) in the beacon. The IE may indicate an availability of another network. When the IE is empty, a sleep mode may be entered (e.g., by a user equipment (UE)). In a method for assisting a detection of a communications network, a database including information indicating an availability of at least a first network may be accessed, and a beacon may be broadcast over a WLAN. The beacon may include an IE that indicates the availability of at least the first network.

Wireless local area network assisted network detection for user equipment

Described herein are apparatuses, methods, and computer readable media for diverting a call from a server that receives calls to a wearable device (e.g., a watch) associated with a mobile device. In some embodiments, a mobile device determines whether a condition to activate a call diversion feature for the mobile device is met. In response to determining the condition is met, the mobile device communicates with the server to activate the call diversion feature for the mobile device. Subsequently, a call intended for the mobile device that is received at the server is diverted from the server to the wearable device.

Methods, devices, and systems embodiments enable a multi-antenna mobile device to mitigate radio frequency (RF) radiation exposure to users. A processor may determine a distance between the multi-antenna mobile device and the select portion of the user and switch from using a first antenna that is closer to the select portion of the user to using a second antenna when the multi-antenna mobile device is close to the user. The signal strength of the first antenna may be compared to the signal strength of a second antenna of the multi-antenna mobile device, and the second antenna may be used instead of the first antenna when the signal strength of the first antenna is within a predetermined threshold of the signal strength of the second antenna. If acceptable signal quality is not obtained with the second antenna, the multi-antenna mobile device may switch back to the first antenna.
