The present disclosure envisages a cap for covering a plug opening. The cap comprises at least one recessed portion having a cross section complementary to a cross section of the plug opening, wherein a first operative end of the recessed portion is fitted into the plug. A top lid is configured on the recessed portion. The top lid and the at least one recessed portion are adapted to prevent ingress of foreign particles to the plug. A lanyard extends from the recessed portion, and a ring is configured at a free end of the lanyard. The ring is adapted to be fitted on a body of the plug. The lanyard and the ring allow the cap to remain attached to the plug in the configuration when the at least one recessed portion is fitted on or not fitted on the plug.

Cap for covering a plug opening

An electrical plug is provided including a plug housing having a hollow interior surrounded by an outer wall, a first plurality of electrical connectors positioned within the hollow interior that are adapted to mate with a second plurality of electrical connectors positioned on a plug housing, a first aperture extending through the outer wall, a locking member extending from within the hollow interior through the first aperture in the outer wall, wherein the locking member includes a retainer that abuts a surface of the outer wall, wherein the locking member includes one a more holes positioned outside of an outer surface of the outer wall, a locking element secured through the one or more holes on the locking member, and wherein the locking member prevents the plug receptacle from being fully engaged with the plug housing.

Safety lockout feature for plug

A customizable panel mount receptacle includes an insulator body and a contact assembly. The insulator body includes a tubular flanged element, a contact retention ring and an insulator cover over-molded on the tubular flanged element. The contact retention ring is coaxially received within the tubular flanged element and includes a plurality of apertures and a first set of engaging elements. The contact assembly includes a conductive contact and contact retention pins and a second set of engaging elements configured on conductive contact. The conductive contact is removably and co-axially received inside the male insulator body. The contact retention pins engage with the apertures configured on the contact retention ring and the second set of engaging elements engage with the first set of engaging elements for facilitating interchangeable connections between different configurations of the male insulator body and the male contact assembly to reduce inventory.

Connector assembly for a panel mounting system

A connector assembly includes a male connector element that is manually expandable to control tightness of fit in a and a female connector element. The male connector element is having a first and a second portion configured by longitudinally bi-furcating the male connector element and includes a chamfered portion, a radially adjusting mechanism and a screw. The chamfered portion is axially configured on male connector element and receives the radially adjusting mechanism that moves the first and second portions relative to each other. The screw axially passes through male connector element and radially moves the radially adjusting mechanism to adjust the gap between the first and second portions to adjust external dimension of male connector element. The female connector element is having a tubular configuration that receives male connector element and is having a plurality of longitudinal slits configured thereon, walls of the female connector element are urged radially inwards towards the male connector element to maintain contact there-between by a spring element.
