The invention relates to the straightening of the lugs of cast anodes, used in the electrolytic refining of metals, prior to immersing the anodes in an electrolytic cell. The method includes straightening of the lugs with both vertical and horizontal compression, and the smoothening of the bottom surface of the anode lug by means of machining.

The invention relates to an automatic charging member for positioning of heavy loads, particularly sheet-like objects as anodes and cathodes into electrolysis tanks. According to the invention, between the loading member (1) and the gripping device (8) there is attached a control frame (3) so that on the ground of the information received from the position detectors (9) the positioning of the gripping device (8) is carried out by moving the control frame (3).

The invention relates to the aerating of domestic and industrial wastewaters by means of an aerator placed on the bottom of the oxidation pond. Particularly the invention relates to the structure of the stator of the aerator. The stator comprises the stator shell structure (4), the stator ducts (7) directed outwards with respect to the outer edge of the shell structure, legs (5) attached to the shell and extending to the bottom of the pond, as well as triangular blade members (6) fastened to the said legs.

The invention relates to a method for arranging conveyor-transported fragmentary particles into one row or several adjacent rows of individual particles before their removal from the conveyor. According to the invention, the conveying base is divided into two subsequent sections, namely, a vibrating section and a subsequent stabilizing section. In the vibrating section the conveying base and the particles on top of it are brought into a relative motion while the particles are subjected to transversal counter-forces in order to concentrate the particles along a straight line in the longitudinal direction of the conveying base. In the stabilizing section the relative motion of the conveying base and the particles on top of it is stopped in good time before the removal of the particles from the conveyor, so that the particles no longer move in relation to each other when they are being removed from the conveyor. This substantially facilitates the analysis of the particles and their separation from each other.

In the method of the invention starting sheets are stiffened and straightened by pressing or rolling upon the sheet various stiffening patterns projecting from the plane of the sheet, the starting sheet being rolled or pressed from both sides by means of a roller or a press the opposite surfaces of which have the patterns, while the starting sheet is suspended by its lugs. An apparatus is disclosed having conveyors for conveying the starting sheets and a roller or press for embossing stiffening patterns upon the starting sheets, the roller or press having two parallel rollers or press plates, provided with regularly alternating depressions and corresponding protrusions, at least one of the press plates being movable in the lateral direction, the roller or press being mounted below the suspension conveyor for the starting plates in such a manner that a starting sheet suspended by its lugs from the suspension conveyor passes through the roller or press.
