Disclosed is a method comprising receiving measurement information associated with cell site auxiliary equipment, wherein the measurement information comprises at least one of the following: status metrics or performance metrics associated with the cell site auxiliary equipment; determining, based at least partly on the measurement information, one or more commands for controlling one or more functions of the cell site auxiliary equipment; and transmitting the one or more commands to the cell site auxiliary equipment, wherein an E2 interface is used for at least one of the following: receiving at least a part of the measurement information, or transmitting the one or more commands.

Cell site auxiliary equipment control

An authorization entity in a communication system comprising a service-based architecture receives a request from a service consumer in the communication system for access to a given service type. The authorization entity obtains an access token that identifies a plurality of service producers for the given service type and sends the access token to the service consumer.

Security management for service access in a communication system

A method selects a network entity in a communication system. The method includes receiving, in a controller entity of an unlicensed radio spectrum access network, location information of a communication device connected to one of the unlicensed radio spectrum access network and another access network. The method further includes determining a routing area indication based on the location information. The method further includes selecting, based on the routing area indication, a serving network entity, which provides services for the communication device using at least the unlicensed radio spectrum access network and the another radio access network. Furthermore, a computer program, a controller entity and a communication system are configured to execute the method.

Selecting a network entity

The objective of the present invention is to provide a virtual radio access network access server (RNAS) which is able to operate as an interworking unit between the base stations and other radio access elements as well as core network. Specifically, unlike according to the present scenario of the radio access network in which the functionalities of RNC and BSC have been implemented in the separate elements thus significantly increasing the number of network elements that has to be logically connected to the core network and/or to other radio access networks, the present invention is designed to reduce the amount of said elements.

Method and system for implementing a signalling connection in a distributed radio access network

A method for transmitting data packets in multiple data flows to/from a mobile station in a mobile communications system. A data transmission path is formed for routing data packets. Multiple profiles are associated with the data transmission path, each profile comprising at least one quality of service parameter, or QoS parameter. Each flow or data packet is provided with a profile tag indicating one of the multiple profiles. Scheduling and policing the transmission of individual data packets is based on at least one QoS parameter of the profile indicated by the profile tag associated with the data flow in question.
