The present invention relates to multi-layer fiber products and a method of manufacturing these kinds of products. The present product comprises a first layer consists mainly of natural fibers and a second, heat-sealing layer located on top of the first layer. The heat-sealing layer consists mainly of synthetic thermoplastic fibers or particles. According to the present method, the heat-sealing layer is brought onto the first layer already during the web forming process, the first and the second layers being formed and joined together in a foam forming process. With the present invention, it is possible to decrease the amount of plastic materials in packaging materials having heat-sealing properties.

Method of producing a fibrous product and a fibrous product

A method of producing a fibrous web, according to which method a fibrous web is formed of foamed fibre dispersion, by using foam forming. According to the present invention, the foamed fibre dispersion comprises recycled textile fibres and possibly natural fibres or synthetic fibres, or a mixture thereof, in which case, of the fibres in the fibre layer, at least 30% % by weight, in particular at least 50% by weight, is sourced from recycled textile fibres. The present invention generates a product with which it is possible to replace, for example, plastic in bag and package applications. The present product is also suitable, for example, for various textile and furniture applications.

Fiber sheets and structures comprising fiber sheets

The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a fibre web which includes a fibre matrix that is comprised of natural fibres and possibly synthetic fibres. According to the present method, an aqueous, planar fibre layer is prepared from the natural fibres and possible synthetic fibres, which layer comprises an aqueous phase and a fibrous phase, and which layer is dried in order to remove the aqueous phase, in which case the natural fibres and possible synthetic fibres together form a fibre matrix. According to the present invention, binder is applied onto the water-containing fibre layer, which binder is allowed to penetrate via the aqueous phase at least partially in between the fibres, before the hydrogen bonds between the fibres form. With the present invention, it is possible to manufacture such cellulose or lignocellulose-based fibre products which have plastic-like properties, such as good fracture toughness, tear resistance and stretching.

Method of producing a fibrous web containing natural and synthetic fibres

The invention relates to fiber sheets, to structures comprising the fiber sheets and to the use of the sheets. The invention further relates to biodegradable and/or recyclable products comprising the fiber sheets, useful in replacing non-biodegradable products.

The invention relates to cardboard used in authenticity products, comprising a fiber matrix having two surfaces, whereby the second surface of the fiber layer has a layer of surface sizing containing a marking agent in a particle form, its particle size being smaller than 50 &#x3bc;m. By incorporating the marking agent into the surface sizing, the particles of the marking agent can be attached to the board, at the same time decreasing their total consumption by 80 to 90% compared with a case where they would be added to pulp. By using particles of a size less than 50 &#x3bc;m, a top free from streaks and roughness can be formed, which streaks might otherwise weaken the quality of the product.

Cardboard and a method of manufacture thereof

The invention relates to a method for producing a visually identifiable diffractive pattern on a substrate by subjecting the substrate to pressure by bringing it into contact with a surface of an embossing plate. An imprinted paper or paperboard sheet, which is varnished at the contacting area of the embossing plate and the substrate is used as a substrate for the embossing. The invention relates also to a product manufactured using the described method. The method is applicable, for example, for common packaging materials, which contain a paperboard, imprinting and a varnish layer for producing a visually attractive and unique marking.
