A power converting device includes a power transistor, a detecting device, a signal converter and a controller. The detecting device obtains a detection voltage by detecting an output voltage on the output end of the power converting device and a detection current by detecting an operation current of the power transistor. The signal converter converts the detection voltage from a first format to a second format, and converts the detection current from the first format to the second format. The controller receives the detection voltage and the detection current in the second format. Wherein the controller compares the detection voltage with a first voltage threshold value and a second voltage threshold value to adjust a control code, and generates a control signal to a control end of the power transistor according to the control code.

Power converting device and control method thereof

A power converter includes a high side switch, a low side switch, a low side driver, a loading detector, a configurable regulator and a high side driver. The low side driver generates a low side drive signal to control the low side switch. The configurable regulator generates a regulation voltage, a magnitude of which is greater when the loading detector detects that the power converter has light loading than when the loading detector detects that the power converter has heavy loading. The high side driver generates a high side drive signal that switches between the input voltage and the regulation voltage to control the high side switch.

Power converter with loading detector for enhancing conversion efficiency

The invention provides a light-emitting diode (LED) driver and a driving method thereof. The LED driver includes a brightness code calculation circuit, a driving current generation circuit and a control circuit. The brightness code calculation circuit is configured to to receive a pulse width modulation (PWM) signal and perform a calculation operation comprising calculating a duty cycle of the PWM signal with respect to a period of the PWM signal and generating a brightness code according to the duty cycle of the PWM signal. The driving current generation circuit is configured to generate a driving current according to the brightness code. The control circuit is configured to detect a plurality of brightness codes generated by the brightness code calculation circuit repeatedly performing the calculation operation and determine whether or not to adjust an execution frequency of the calculation operation of the brightness code calculation circuit according to the brightness codes.
