An information handling system includes a connection tab physically coupled to a top cover of the information handling system, and a sliding bracket configured to engage with a riser cage of the information handling system and the connection tab of the top cover. A mezzanine card holder has an alignment sleeve through which a standoff of a system board of the information handling system may be inserted, such that the standoff may engage with the sliding bracket.

A module sled of an information handling system includes a main portion and a handle. The main portion includes frame components of the module sled. The handle is in physical communication with the main portion and includes a grip portion and a latch portion. The latch portion is in physical communication with the grip portion. The latch portion is biased toward a locked position to hold the module sled within the information handling system.

In one embodiment, a method for removably coupling a tray bracket to a cable holder of an information handling system includes: receiving, by an open slot of a lock ring receiver of the cable holder, a closed end of a lock ring of the tray bracket, the lock ring receiver disposed on a surface of the cable holder, the closed end of the lock ring removably coupled to the lock ring receiver; applying, by two or more guiding structures of a lock ring neck receptacle of the cable holder, a compression force on a neck of the lock ring; and causing, by the compression force, the neck of the lock ring to be received by a recessed area of the lock ring neck receptable to removably couple the tray bracket to the cable holder.

A chassis is disclosed that includes a first sidewall, a second sidewall and a baffle having a plurality of penetrations, a first side and a second side and configured to be inserted into the chassis between the first sidewall and the second sidewall. The retention assembly may include a fixed member, a movable member mechanically coupled to the fixed member such that the movable member is movable relative to the fixed member in a linear axis, and at least one fastener configured to mechanically engage with the fixed member in order to maintain the movable member in a desired position relative to the fixed member.

A multiple connector assembly includes a connector housing. A first connector and a second connector, adjacent the first connector, extend from a first surface of the connector housing. A securing member is coupled to the connector housing and is configured to engage a connector coupling member to secure the first connector in a first connector receptacle and the second connector in a second connector receptacle. A connector release actuator that is located on a second surface of the connector housing that is opposite the first surface of the connector housing. The connector release actuator is configured to actuate the securing member to cause the securing member to disengage with the connector coupling member such that the first connector is no longer secured in the first connector receptacle and the second connector is no longer secured in the second connector receptacle.

Multiple connector system

An information handling system (IHS) includes a reinforced edge card connector having a terminal block having a mounting surface attached to a surface of a first Printed Circuit Board (PCB). A connector housing has a connector opening aligned to the surface of the PCB to receive an edge of a second PCB. An upper row of upper conductors and a lower row of lower conductors are positioned in respective opposition to frictionally engage opposite sides of the edge of the second PCB, wherein the upper conductors are cantilevered pins. The connector housing exposes a bent portion of the cantilevered pins of the upper row of upper conductors. A flexible sheet is attached to an outward surface of the connector housing and to exposed surfaces of the upper row of upper conductors to create a binding force to multiple cantilevered pins to resist deformation.

Reinforced right-angle type board edge connector

A board fastening apparatus includes an anchor and a key connected by a flexible tether. The anchor may include a pedestal and a collar. The pedestal may be configured to engage a free edge of a data storage board. The pedestal may define a channel for receiving a pin from the key. The collar may be configured to engage a via form in a mounting board or other substrate. The fastening device key may include a base, a pin, and a pull tab. The pin may be affixed to a first surface of the base and configured to insert into the channel defined by the pedestal. With the anchor affixed to the mounting board and the storage board's free edge engaged by the pedestal, inserting the pin into the channel places the base partially overlying the storage board to restrain movement of the free edge in the vertical direction.

Board fastener for securing a data storage device in an information handling system

A disclosed connector latch for latching a cable assembly to a connector includes a substantially planar body and has a width approximately equal to the cable assembly width. The connector latch includes a retention clip comprising first and second tabs. Each tab extends the latch body and terminates at a flange displaced above the latch body by a thickness of the cable assembly. The connector latch includes a clamp with first and second branches. Each branch includes a middle portion pivotally coupled to the latch body, a fang at a distal end of each branch, and pinch plates at a proximal end of each branch. The branches are configured with an unbiased state in which they engage a distal edge of a connector connected to the cable. The mass storage device may be an M.2 solid state drive and the device connector may be a serial ATA connector.

Apparatus for securing connection between cable assembly and storage device connector

An information handling system (IHS) includes a reinforced edge card connector having a terminal block having a mounting surface attached to a surface of a first Printed Circuit Board (PCB). A connector housing has a connector opening aligned in parallel to the surface of the PCB to receive an edge of a second PCB. An upper row of upper conductors and a lower row of lower conductors are positioned in respective opposition to frictionally engage opposite sides of the edge of the second PCB, wherein the upper conductors are cantilevered pins. The connector housing exposes a bent portion of the cantilevered pins of the upper row of upper conductors. A flexible sheet is attached to an outward surface of the connector housing and to exposed surfaces of the upper row of upper conductors to create a binding force to multiple cantilevered pins to resist deformation.

An information handling system (IHS) chassis defines a component housing. An IHS component is located in the component housing. The IHS component defines a module channel, a module chassis locating slot adjacent the module channel, and a pair of module chassis securing apertures adjacent the module channel. The IHS component includes a module chassis retaining surface that is spaced apart from the module channel. A module chassis is located in the module channel, includes a retaining wall that engages the module chassis retaining surface and a locating member that extends into the module chassis locating slot, and defines a module housing. The module chassis is secured to the component through the pair of module chassis securing apertures. A latching module is located in the module housing and secured to the module chassis. The latching module engages the IHS chassis to resist removal of the IHS component from the component housing.

A support member includes a coupling piece that defines a support piece aperture extending through the coupling piece and that includes a coupling arm that extends from a location on the coupling piece that is spaced apart from the support piece aperture. The support member also includes a support piece that defines a coupling arm aperture, wherein the coupling arm is located in the coupling arm aperture. A support surface engagement member extends from the support piece and through the support piece aperture, wherein the support surface engagement member comprises an engagement surface and a stop member that extends from a surface on the support surface engagement member that is opposite from the engagement surface.
