An electrical connector assembly includes a contact member and a spring member. The contact member has a base and contact arms that extend from the base in an arm direction on opposite sides of a terminal plane. The spring member is supported on the contact member and includes a spring base and spring arms that extend from the spring base in the arm direction. The spring arms are on opposite sides of the terminal plane and engage respective ones of the contact arms at respective spring contacts. The spring member also includes a shroud that is connected to the spring base and has an end shield that extends beyond the arms. The shroud includes side shields that are located on opposite sides of the contact arms and connect the end shield to the spring base. Shield arms also connect the end shield to the spring base.

An electrical terminal housing includes a housing body. The housing body defines a terminal cavity. An insertion opening in the housing body opens into the terminal cavity. A mate opening in the housing body also opens into the terminal cavity. A terminal lock extends from the housing body and is located in the terminal cavity. The terminal lock is adapted to engage an electrical terminal to retain the electrical terminal in the terminal cavity. The terminal lock is offset from the center of a side of the terminal cavity and is located closer to one side wall of the terminal cavity.

An electrical terminal assembly includes a contact member. The contact member has a contact base. A plurality of contact arms extend from the contact base in an arm direction. The electrical terminal assembly includes a spring member supported on the contact member. The spring member includes a spring base. The conductor has a conductor body and a plurality of contact arms that extend from the conductor body in an outward direction to respective arm ends. The cap is located farther from the conductor body in the outward direction than the arm ends. The cap defines a cap opening that the terminal axis extends through. The cap is located farther from the conductor body in the outward direction than the arm ends, and the cap is closer to the terminal axis than the arm ends.

An electric contact located within the interior space includes a contact base and a plurality of contact arms that extend from the contact base toward an outer end of the terminal body. The end cap also includes a flange that extends from the cap base in an inner direction into the interior space of the terminal body. An electrically conducting terminal having capabilities to facilitate electrically connecting to one or more connectors is disclosed. The electrically conducting terminal may include a recessed end to receive a connector. The recessed end may include a resilient element, such as but not limited to a female contact, to facilitate electrical conductivity between the connector and the terminal. The electrically conducting terminal may include an end cap, end piece, or other feature to facilitate retaining the resilient element within the recessed end.

A female contact is provided for an electrical connector. The female contact includes a body portion and a plurality of flexible beams that extend from the body portion. The body portion is biased for engagement with a connector housing. The flexible beams taper from a first width this is near the body portion to a second width that is smaller than the first width.

An electrical terminal assembly includes a base and a spring member. The base defines an axis and includes a plurality of base beams deflectable toward the axis. The spring member has a main portion that is disposed over the base, and a plurality of spring beams that extend from the main portion. The spring beams bias the base beams toward the axis. The main portion of the spring member is made from a folded blank having a first edge that is permanently secured to a second edge such that the edges cannot be pulled apart from one another.

The electric contact includes a base contact ring that is biased into engagement with the terminal body and an outer ring that is biased into engagement with the terminal body.
