In example implementations, a printhead die is provided. The printhead die includes a substrate, a chamber layer formed on the substrate, a plurality of printing fluid ejection chambers coupled to opposite sides of the chamber layer and along a length of the chamber layer, and a top hat layer formed on the chamber layer and the plurality of printing fluid ejection chambers. The chamber layer includes a void to store printing fluid. The top hat layer includes an initial unsupported top hat layer portion over the void, wherein the initial unsupported top hat layer portion comprises a first end that is narrower than a second end.

Unsupported top hat layers in printhead dies

A fluid ejection die may include a fluid actuator, a substrate supporting the fluid actuator, a chamber layer supported by the substrate and a bypass passage in the substrate. The substrate may include a closed inlet channel having an inlet opening for connection to an outlet of a fluid source and an outlet channel having an outlet opening of a first size for connection to an inlet of the fluid source. The chamber layer includes a recirculation passage to supply fluid for ejection by the fluid actuator through an ejection orifice and to circulate fluid across the fluid actuator from the closed inlet channel to the outlet channel. The bypass passage is of a second size less than the first size and connects the inlet channel to the inlet of the fluid source while bypassing any fluid actuator provided for ejecting fluid through an ejection orifice.

Recirculation bypass

According to examples, an apparatus may include a fluidic chamber, in which fluid is to be temporarily held. The apparatus may also include a heating component to generate heat to form a drive bubble in the fluid held in the fluidic chamber and a cavitation plate may be provided between the fluidic chamber and the heating component. The cavitation plate may be in communication with the fluidic chamber and may physically separate the fluidic chamber from the heating component to protect the heating component. In addition, a controller may determine a condition in the fluidic chamber based on an electrical signal received from the cavitation plate.

Examples include a fluidic die. The fluidic die comprises an array of field effect transistors including field effect transistors of a first size and field effect transistors of a second size. At least one connecting member interconnects at least some of the field effect transistors of the array of field effect transistors. The fluidic die further comprises a first fluid actuator connected to a first set of field effect transistors having at least one field effect transistor of the first size. The die includes a second fluid actuator connected to a second respective set of field effect transistors having a first respective field effect transistor of the second size interconnected to at least one other field effect transistor of the array.

Connected field effect transistors

In one example in accordance with the present disclosure, a fluidic die is described. The fluidic die includes an array of fluid actuators grouped into primitives. Each actuator is disposed in a fluid chamber. The fluidic die also includes an array of fluid sensors. Each fluid sensor is disposed within a fluid chamber and determines a characteristic within the fluid chamber. A data parser of the fluidic die extracts from an incoming signal, firing instructions and measurement instructions for the fluidic die. The measurement instructions indicate at least one of a peak measurement during a nucleation event and a reference measurement during a non-nucleation event. A firing controller generates firing signals based on the firing instructions and a measurement controller activates, during a measurement interval of a printing cycle for the primitive, a measurement for a selected actuator based on the measurement instructions.

Non-nucleation fluid actuator measurements

A fluid ejection device includes a fluid slot, three laterally adjacent fluid ejection chambers each having a drop ejecting element therein, a fluid circulation path communicated with each of the three laterally adjacent fluid ejection chambers, and a fluid circulating element within the fluid circulation path, with at least two laterally adjacent fluid ejection chambers of the three laterally adjacent fluid ejection chambers to substantially simultaneously eject drops of fluid therefrom such that the drops of fluid are to coalesce during flight.

Fluid ejection device

In some examples, a fluid ejection system can include one or more drive bubble devices and a sensor for each drive bubble device of the one or more drive bubble devices to detect a characteristic of each drive bubble device. The fluid ejection system can also include a controller. The controller can be configured to evaluate a first drive bubble device of the one or more drive bubble devices, and during the evaluation of the first drive bubble device, utilize one or more other drive bubble devices of the one or more drive bubble devices.

A fluid ejection device includes a fluid slot, a first fluid ejection chamber communicated with the fluid slot and including a first drop ejecting element, a second fluid ejection chamber communicated with the fluid slot and including a second drop ejecting element, a fluid circulation path communicated with the first fluid ejection chamber and the second fluid ejection chamber, and a fluid circulating element within the fluid circulation path.

A fluid ejection device includes a fluid slot, two laterally adjacent fluid ejection chambers each having a drop ejecting element therein, a fluid circulation path communicated with the fluid slot and each of the two laterally adjacent fluid ejection chambers, and a fluid circulating element within the fluid circulation path, with the fluid circulating element laterally adjacent at least one of the two laterally adjacent fluid ejection chambers, and the two laterally adjacent fluid ejection chambers to substantially simultaneously eject drops of fluid therefrom such that the drops of fluid are to coalesce during flight.

A fluid ejection device includes a fluid slot, a first fluid ejection chamber communicated with the fluid slot and including a first drop ejecting element, a second fluid ejection chamber including a second drop ejecting element, and a fluid circulation path including a first portion communicated with the fluid slot and the second fluid ejection chamber, and a second portion communicated with the first fluid ejection chamber and the second fluid ejection chamber, with the fluid circulation path including a fluid circulating element within the first portion.

A system, method, and non-transitory computer readable medium are disclosed for mitigating dot placement errors for a given print job. The method includes processing tone values on a per pixel basis to determine whether to implement plane dependence. Plane independence is implemented if the tone value exceeds a predetermined threshold. The method may be performed on a pixel by pixel basis and/or a print object or region basis. Determining whether to implement plane dependence may involve de-asserting or partially de-asserting a plane dependence component of an executed half-toning instruction between sequentially processed color planes of a printing system.

Mitigating dot placement errors for a print job

A piezoelectric inkjet die stack includes a circuit die stacked on a substrate die, a piezoelectric actuator die stacked on the circuit die, and a cap die stacked on the piezoelectric actuator die. Each die in succession from the circuit die to the cap die is narrower than the previous die.
