Provided is a construction machine that can realize the assurance of good vision for an operator sitting in a seat. In a wheeled excavator provided with a upperstructure (), a seat disposed in a cab () mounted on the upperstructure (), steps () arranged laterally to the cab () with the seat disposed therein and including a first step member (), second step member () and third step member (), and a compartment cover () arranged on a side opposite to the seat with respect to the steps (), an arcuate upper indentation () is formed in the compartment cover () at a part thereof that faces a space () defined between the third step member () and the second step member (), and an arcuate lower indentation () is formed in the compartment cover () at another part thereof that faces a space () defined between the second step member () and the first step member ().

Construction machine

A working mechanism () takes a traveling stance by a way that left and right boom cylinders () are expanded to rotate a tip end of a first boom () to the rear side and a positioning cylinder () is compressed to rotate a tip end of a second boom () to the lower side. In the traveling stance of the working mechanism (), a front surface plate (A) of a right front housing cover () is inclined along a tilting angle (&#x3b1;) of the left and right boom cylinders (), and the front surface plate (A) of the right front housing cover () is arranged in a position of lining with front ends (AA) of tubes (A,A) in the left-right direction forming the respective boom cylinders ().

A right front housing cover is arranged in the right side of a working mechanism, and a first control valve is arranged in a front portion side of a valve accommodation room that is covered with the right front housing cover. Further, a signal control valve block is arranged in the back side of the first control valve and in the upper side of the first control valve, and a solenoid valve is arranged in the back side of the signal control valve block. A front surface plate forming part of the right front housing cover has a lower side is inclined in an oblique downward direction toward the forward side, and is arranged along a virtual line that extends in an oblique downward direction through a front end portion of the first control valve and a front end portion of the signal control valve block.
