Disclosed herein is an image recording device for recording a plurality of images on a single recording medium. The image recording device basically comprises a frame memory for storing input image data therein, a setting device for specifying image attribute information and image arrangement information on the recording medium, a line buffer memory for storing therein image data read from the frame memory, a dot-number counter for counting down a read clock of the frame memory in response to the number of margin dots preset thereto, a white image data storing device for storing white image data in the line buffer memory in synchronism with the read clock until the count of the dot-number counter reaches zero after the dot-number counter has started to count, an address counter for counting up the read clock in response to an image read start address preset thereto when the count of the dot-number counter has reached zero, thereby specifying an address for reading image data corresponding to each line with respect to each image from the frame memory, and a write control device for storing, at one address of the frame memory, image data corresponding to one horizontal scanning period with respect to one image.

An image recording device for recording one or more images on a single recording medium includes a frame memory having a plurality of frame memory areas, the number of which is at least one greater than the number of images arranged along a main scanning direction on a recording medium. Upon the completion of storage of image data in the a number of frame memory areas equal to the number of images arranged along the main scanning direction, a storage completion signal is produced. A recording unit is energized to automatically record the images on the recording medium in response to the storage completion signal, and new image data are stored in another frame memory area.

A video image storage device comprises a signal input means capable of analog-to-digital conversion of input video signals including various types of scanning lines such as different numbers of scanning lines, a frame memory means capable of memorizing image signals and signal output means. The video image storage device further comprises an input signal generating means, an output signal generating means and a frame memory control means. The input signal generating means comprises a N multiplying circuit capable of N multiplying horizontal synchronizing pulses. The number of N in a dividing circuit can be arbitarily determined by the relation between effective image period and blanking period, and thus the video image storage device can store input video signals having different scanning line numbers which depend upon the types of diagnostic modalities.
