The invention offers a superconducting coil, which is an oxide superconducting coilthat has the shape of a saddle formed by winding an oxide superconducting wirein the shape of a racetrack and that has a curved portionand a linear portionconnected to the curved portion. At least in the central portion of the linear portion, an upper endis positioned at the inner-circumference side in comparison with a lower end. Having the foregoing configuration, the superconducting coil formed of an oxide super-conducting wire can suppress the reduction in its electrical property caused by the lines of magnetic flux when used in a rotating machine such as a motor. The invention also offers a superconducting-coil assembly formed by using the foregoing superconducting coils and a rotating machine incorporating the foregoing superconducting coil (superconducting-coil assembly).

A superconducting coil and a rotating device, the performances of which are improved, and a superconducting coil manufacturing method are provided. A superconducting coilis a saddle-shaped superconducting coil formed by winding a superconducting wire so as to form a race-track-like shape. The superconducting coil includes a curved portionand a straight portionconnected to the curved portion. In the curved portion, an upper edgeis positioned closer to an inner peripheral side than a lower edgeis, and in the straight portion, the upper edgeis positioned closer to an outer peripheral side than the lower edgeis.

A superconducting coil apparatus and a superconducting apparatus including the superconducting coil apparatus are provided. The superconducting coil apparatus includes a superconducting coil, an inner containerthat holds the superconducting coiltherein, and an outer container. The inner containerand the outer containerare made of FRP. At a corner portionof the inner containerand the outer container, a sealing reinforcement portionmade of a resin is formed so as to extend along the corner portion. Opening portionsandare formed in side surfaces of the inner containerand the outer container. The sealing reinforcement portionis disposed at the corner portionof the opening portionsand, whereby the sealing performance of the container can be improved.

Superconducting coil apparatus, superconducting appatatus, and method of making superconducting coil apparatus

The invention offers a container for a superconducting apparatus and a superconducting apparatus. The container mounts in it a superconducting coil as a member including a superconductor. The container is provided with a vacuum insulated containeras a housing case made of resin and provided with an opening, a lead electrodeas a metal member positioned such that it passes through the opening, and a combination of connecting membersandthat covers the opening, that connects the lead electrodeto the vacuum insulated container, and that is provided with a curved portion as a thermal-stress-alleviating portion. Having the foregoing structure, the container can suppress the development of separation and cracks at the portion where the metal member passes though and is fixed to the wall of the container that mounts in it a superconductor such as a superconducting coil.
