There is provided a paper curl correction apparatus including: an input curl determining unit that determines, on the basis of curl characteristic information of a first apparatus which processes a sheet, input curl information corresponding to an amount of curl of a sheet input from the first apparatus; a target curl acquiring unit that acquires, from a post-processing apparatus which performs a post process on a sheet, target curl information suited for the post process; a correction determining unit that determines, on the basis of the input curl information and the target curl information, an amount of curl correction for correcting an amount of curl of the sheet input from the first apparatus to an amount of curl suited for the post process; and a curl correcting unit that corrects the curl of the sheet input from the first apparatus in accordance with the amount of curl correction.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming apparatus body provided with an image formation unit and plural paper feeding apparatuses. Paper conveyance paths of the plural paper feeding apparatuses are daisy-chained with respect to the image forming apparatus body. An output unit outputs an instruction signal which instructs a specified paper feeding apparatus to start feeding a paper. A paper feed unit feeds the paper upon receipt of the instruction signal. A recognition unit recognizes a delay time until an analysis that the instruction signal is a paper feed instruction. A correction unit corrects an output timing of the instruction signal based on the delay time.

An image forming system comprises a request analysis section which analyzes an input image forming process request and specifies a peripheral device for use in executing an image forming process and a judgment section to judge whether or not a version upgrade is performed in the peripheral device. A process execution control section executes the process when it is judged that no version upgrade is being performed in the peripheral device, and instructs an input/output section to display, via a report section, a message indicating a version upgrade being performed when it is judged that a version upgrade is being performed. In this manner, user convenience during version upgrade time is enhanced.

An image forming apparatus judges whether first processing information of current sheet information is different from that of preceding sheet information. If they are different, the current first processing information is notified to a finishing device. The finishing device prepares for processing based on the first processing information. Upon completing the preparation, the finishing device notifies preparation completion information to the image processing apparatus. Upon receiving the preparation completion information, the image processing apparatus starts image formation processing on the next sheet and notifies second processing information to the finishing device. Upon receiving the second processing information, the finishing device calculates a processing time necessary to perform a finishing operation and notifies it to the image forming apparatus. Since the finishing device manages its restrictive condition, it becomes possible to combine the image forming apparatus and the finishing device freely as well as to maximize the productivity of each.

A document exposure apparatus includes a glass plate on which a document original is located, a press cover for covering the glass plate, an open/close discriminating unit for discriminating an open state and a close state of the press cover, an exposure unit, disposed under the glass plate, for illuminating the original with light, and a control unit for controlling the illuminating operation of the exposure unit according to an open/close state of the press cover, which is discriminated by the open/close discriminating unit.
