Provided is a liquid crystal display device that includes a first substrate including a microlens corresponding to each pixel, a second substrate disposed to face the first substrate, and a liquid crystal material layer sandwiched between the first substrate and the second substrate. A first transparent material layer including a material having a first refractive index is formed in the first substrate, and a material having a second refractive index different from the first refractive index is disposed in a portion of the first transparent material layer corresponding to a region between adjacent pixels. A second transparent material layer including a material having a third refractive index is formed in the second substrate, and a material having a fourth refractive index different from the third refractive index is disposed in a portion of the second transparent material layer corresponding to the region between the adjacent pixels.

A liquid crystal display device according to the present disclosure includes: a liquid crystal layer; a drive substrate including a light-shielding region and a transmissive region; a plurality of pixel electrodes that is transmissive and provided at a position corresponding to the transmissive region on the drive substrate; a counter substrate disposed to be opposed to the drive substrate with the plurality of pixel electrodes and the liquid crystal layer interposed therebetween; a first layer provided between the counter substrate and the liquid crystal layer and including a material having a first refractive index; and a second layer that is provided in at least a portion of a region corresponding to the light-shielding region in the first layer, includes a material having a second refractive index lower than the first refractive index, and has a rectangular cross-sectional shape in a thickness direction.

A liquid crystal display device includes a plurality of pixels, each pixel includes a first electrode, a second electrode opposed to the first electrode, and a liquid crystal layer between the second electrode and the first electrode; a first region in each of the plurality of pixels having a first optical path length between the first electrode and the second electrode; a second region in each of the plurality of pixels having a second optical path length between the first electrode and the second electrode, the second optical path length being shorter than the first optical path length, the second region has the liquid crystal layer equal in thickness to the liquid crystal layer in the first region; and an optical path length adjusting layer between the liquid crystal layer and the first electrode in the first region.

An electrode structure includes a light reflection film, an insulating film formed on the light reflection film, and a transparent conductive film formed on the insulating film. The transparent conductive film is divided into pieces in a two-dimensional matrix at a predetermined pitch to form transparent pixel electrodes. This liquid crystal display unit includes a pair of polarizers, a liquid crystal display device provided between the pair of polarizers, and an optical compensation device provided between, of the pair of polarizers, at least one polarizer and the liquid crystal display device. The optical compensation device includes an underlayer including a plurality of structures that each include first and second surfaces having different inclination angles from each other, and a multilayered film formed on the underlayer and including a plurality of first and second refractive index films that are alternately stacked one on top of another repeatedly. An array pitch of the plurality of structures in the underlayer is smaller than a wavelength of visible light.

Optical compensation device, liquid crystal display unit, and projection display apparatus

A fluid pipe device is provided, which includes a pipe member forming a flow channel for flowing a fluid; a heating member for generating heat to heat the pipe member; a metal heat transfer member abutting against the heating member and conducting the heat to the pipe member; and a terminal member electrically connecting the heating member and the heat transfer member. The heat transfer member includes a first heat transfer member and a second heat transfer member, and at least one of the first heat transfer member and the second heat transfer member forms the terminal member at one portion, and the first heat transfer member is provided in the pipe member in such a way as not to be exposed inside the flow channel of the pipe member.

Fluid pipe device

Provided is a connecting arrangement () for connecting a tube member to an article () that prevents the connector from being re-used once it has been disconnected so that the user may be prevented from disconnecting and reconnecting the tube member once again. A lock member () for engaging an engagement portion () of the tube member () is positioned inside the inner circumferential surface of the connector main body () so as not to be accessible from outside. The connector main body is provided with a frangible part () that is destroyed when a force exceeding a prescribed level is applied to the connector main body. Once the connector main body is destroyed at the frangible part, the lock member is exposed to the outside so that the engagement portion can be disengaged. In order to disconnect the tube member, the connector main body is required to be destroyed so that the connector cannot be re-used once it has been disconnected.

A blow-by heater includes a metal pipe for flowing a blow-by gas therethrough. The metal pipe includes a flat portion on one side along an axis direction and a curved portion on a side opposite to the flat portion and is formed of a metal plate with a joining portion abutting against each other at edges of the metal plate at the curved portion. The blow-by gas heater further includes a resin molded over the metal pipe, and a heating source provided inside resin and directly contacting the flat portion.

A blow-by heater includes a tube member allowing a blow-by gas to flow through, and opening in a downstream side, and the tube member is formed such that a thickness of the downstream side decreases toward an opening end.

Provided is a hose connector that is protected from inadvertent disconnection, and permits any problem with the hose connection to be readily detected. The hose connector () includes a connector main body (), and a lock member () fitted on the connector main body. When the lock member () is displaced to a locked position, an annular reduced diameter portion () of the lock member () approaches an annular enlarged diameter portion () of the connector main body () so that these two portions clamp the wall of the hose. The lock member () is held in the locked position by a second engagement portion () formed in the inner circumferential surface of the lock member () engaging the connector main body (). When the lock member () placed in the locked position is subjected to a twisting force exceeding a prescribed value, a frangible part () provided between the second engagement portion () and the annular reduced diameter portion () fractures, but the connection of the hose is maintained because the second engagement portion supports the annular reduced diameter portion from the rear via the frangible part ().

Provide is a PCV valve which can be quickly defreezed and provides a favorable sealing to the heater against the blow-by gas. The PCV valve () comprises a housing () defining a flow passage () for blow-by gas, a valve member () positioned in the flow passage to cooperate with a valve seat () formed in the housing, a spring () biasing the valve member toward the valve seat, a heat transmission member () including a heat dissipating part () surrounding the valve member, and a heating unit () including a heating element () for heating the heat transmission member, the heating element being separated from the flow passage in an air tight manner.

A pipe connecting connector adapted to connect a pipe to a connecting object, includes a connector main body adapted to insert or remove the pipe, and including a locking opening formed on a side portion thereof; a lock member including an annular portion and a pipe locking portion extending from the annular portion and including a locking claw extending inside the connector main body through the locking opening for locking the pipe, the lock member being movably held relative to the connector main body between a locking position wherein the pipe locking portion locks the pipe, and an unlocking position releasing the locking, and an urging device urging the lock member to a locking position side. The pipe locking portion is urged in a locking direction of the pipe by an urging force of the urging device when the lock member is in the locking position.

A hose connector comprises a connector main body (), a lock member (), a cam mechanism () that converts the rotational movement of the lock member into an axial movement thereof, and clamping features () formed in the inner and outer circumferential surfaces of the lock member and the connector main body which clamps a hose end by moving axially toward each other. The hose end can be connected to a pipe or a pipe-like member with ease in a reliable manner and without requiring a tool.
