The present invention relates to a method in which grades of oil are refined according to their object from a feed oil. This method has a solvent extraction process that obtains an extracted oil, and a hydrogenation process that subjects the obtained extracted oil to hydrogenation process in the presence of hydrogen and a catalyst to obtain a hydrorefined oil. The solvent extraction conditions are selected by using the poly-aromatic concentration as an index for calculating the concentration of heptane insoluble components in the residue of the extracted oil obtained by the solvent extraction process that cannot be fractionally distilled.

Feed oil is subject to atmospheric distillation, to thereby be separated into light oil or light distillate and atmospheric residue oil. The light distillate is catalytically contacted with pressurized hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst, resulting in a first hydrotreating step being executed. In this instance, various fractions of the light distillate produced in the atmospheric distillation are subject to hydrotreating in a lump. The atmospheric residue oil is then separated into a light matter and a heavy matter. According to this configuration, a wide-range image having a horizontal angle of view of 180 degree is separated into a rear center image positioned at a center of the image and side images separated from the center like a vanity with three mirrors, and a sense of depth is provided by distorting and deforming intentionally the side images in contrast to the rear center image such that the side images can look as if the side images are just looked at.

A driving assistance apparatus includes: cameras; a plurality of virtual observing point converting unit; an image synthesizing unit for synthesizing image information supplied from this virtual observing point converting unit; an obstacle sensing unit such as an ultrasonic-wave sensor and a millimeter-wave radar; a safety area predicting unit; and a safety area superposing unit. Then, the safety area predicting unit predicts such a safety area where an obstacle is not present based upon both a distance 'd' and an approximate direction, which are obtained from the obstacle sensing unit. Driving assistance apparatus

A light portion is extracted from feed oil by a separation system. The light portion is then subject to a hydrotreatment to obtain impurity-removed fuel oil which is stored in an intermediate tank. A residue of the feed oil after extraction of the light portion is gasified to obtain syngas (H2 gas&plus;CO gas) which is used as basic fuel for power generation in a power generation system. The fuel oil is fed to the power generation system as auxiliary fuel for supplementing the power generation based on the syngas. The power generation system includes a plurality of gas turbines and generators. The number of the gas turbines to be driven by the fuel oil is controlled to adjust the power generation amount depending on demand.

A sensing device for detecting a vehicle's skid, an attitude and a speed with lane markers. This sensing device allows sensors mounted on the vehicle to detect lane markers arranged on the lane center along a road. The lane markers are detected in a magnetic, electric, or optical manner. Based on outputs of the sensors, a movement of the vehicle is measured. Two sensors each are provided on front and rear of the vehicle. Four outputs from the respective sensors are calculated based on given equations (additions and subtractions) so that a skid amount of the vehicle from the lane center, the attitude and the speed of the vehicle can be found. This simple construction formed by the sensors detecting the lane markers and the circuits performing addition and subtraction can measure the skid, attitude and speed of the vehicle.

A gas transfer pipe arrangement includes a pipe in which gas containing droplets flows. A centrifugal force type separation unit is provided in the pipe for applying a radial centrifugal force to the gas flowing in the pipe so that the droplets in the gas adhere to an inner periphery of the pipe to be separated from the gas. A gas transfer pipe arrangement includes a pipe in which gas containing droplets flows. A droplet separation unit is provided in the pipe for separating the droplets from the gas. A relative position is determined by determining a GPS wave propagation time difference from a GPS satellite, a wave of which is received by the car running nearby and the own car in common. The difference between the data of GPS wave propagation time at the car running nearby and the data of GPS wave propagation time at the own car is calculated, and if the number of differences of the GPS wave propagation time is obtained by more than three pieces, a relative position of the car running nearby is calculated by solving simultaneous equations expression the relative position as an unknown quantity.

A relative distance and relative velocity to a target object is accurately estimated even if an error in slopes of the triangular wave modulation, that is unbalanced upward and downward slopes, or error in absolute values in an FMCW radar exists. A first distance estimator estimates a distance up to the target object based on a sum of a beat wave frequency generated between the upward and downward slopes of the triangular wave and an absolute value of an average frequency modulation factor which is a mean value of frequency modulation factors for the upward and downward slopes of the triangular wave, and a first velocity estimator estimates a relative velocity to the target object based on a time difference of the calculated distance. A tentative frequency modulation factor estimator estimates an absolute value of a tentative frequency modulation factor based on the calculated distance and velocity, and then estimates a more accurate relative velocity to the target object based on the estimated absolute value of the tentative frequency modulation factor and the distance calculated by the first distance estimator.
