A transmission device includes: a code generator configured to generate delay measurement information; an insertion unit configured to sequentially insert the delay measurement information generated by the code generator, in each of delay measurement signals in a plurality of frames, and to sequentially transmit the plurality of frames sequentially inserted with the delay measurement information to a counterpart device on a transmission path whose path delay time is to be measured; and a detector configured to receive a plurality of frames transmitted from the counterpart device and to detect the delay measurement information included in each of delay measurement signals in the plurality of received frames.

Transmission device, transmission network system, and path delay measuring method

A transmission apparatus includes a plurality of output units and a detector. The plurality of output units is configured to couple to a plurality of transmission paths, respectively, branched from one transmission path. The plurality of output units includes at least one first output unit configured to transmit signal light selectively to one of the branched transmission paths, and at least one second output unit configured to transmit test light with a wavelength different from a wavelength of the signal light to another of the branched transmission paths. The detector is configured to decide a failure in the branched transmission paths, based on a result of detection of a reflected light of the test light received through at least one of the branched transmission paths.

An optical transmission apparatus to which an optical module having optical module information stored therein is attachable, the optical module information being manufacturing information about the optical module, includes a certification rank table configured to a list, with respect to each of a plurality of optical modules, the optical module information regarding an optical module and a rank indicative of a range of guarantee for the corresponding optical module, and a ranking unit configured to refer to the certification rank table by use of the optical module information stored in an optical module attached to the optical transmission apparatus so as to determine the rank indicative of a range of guarantee for the attached optical module, wherein the determined rank is reported to an exterior of the apparatus.
