An upper of a shoe covering at least a part of a foot, the upper including: a medial portion covering a medial surface of the foot; a lateral portion covering a lateral surface of the foot; a plurality of panel portions provided in the medial portion and/or the lateral portion while being spaced apart from each other in a front-rear direction of the foot and extending in a foot girth direction crossing the front-rear direction of the foot; and a plurality of string portions formed from linear members extending in the front-rear direction, and arranged so as to extend between a pair of the plurality of panel portions that are adjacent to each other in the front-rear direction, wherein the panel portion and the string portion are formed from a single piece of fabric.

Shoe upper

There is provided a footwear capable of efficiently removing vibrations of specific frequencies that could propagate to the human body upon landing during running or walking. A footwear includes a sole; an upper connected to an upper-side perimeter region of the sole; and a vibration absorbing unit which absorbs vibration generated by an impact upon landing. The vibration absorbing unit includes a platy flexible support portion which has a smaller rigidity in the vertical direction than in the horizontal direction, and a weight portion provided in the support portion. The support portion is fixed to the sole or the upper, surrounding a perimeter of the weight portion.

Mid sole having layered structure

A low rigidity region being more stretchable and bendable than a high rigidity region, includes a main portion, and a medial first flexible portion and a lateral first flexible portion extending from the main portion in the medial and lateral directions. The main portion covers a portion of the area from the shaft of the first proximal phalanx to the shaft of the second proximal phalanx, the medial first flexible portion covers a portion of the area from the shaft of the first proximal phalanx to the head of the first metatarsal bone, and the lateral first flexible portion extends to the lateral side of the foot from the main portion. When pushing off the foot onto the medial/lateral side in a diagonally forward direction, the upper bends along the diagonal bend lines. Therefore, the diagonal portions and the main portion serve as the bend lines.

There is provided a structure of a shoe sole that suppresses excessive bending by reinforcing the front foot portion of a sole having a reduced weight. The shoe sole may include a mid sole for absorbing an impact of landing, an outer sole placed under the mid sole and in contact with the ground, and a reinforcement element for suppressing bending of a front foot portion during push-off. An athletic shoe suitable for efficient running. A depression is formed in the rear foot portion which extends forward from the calcaneal bone and which does not contact the ground. A band-like area is provided in the middle foot portion extending in the front-rear direction in the central portion between the medial side and the lateral side of the shoe sole so as to be continuous with the depression. The reinforcement member and the midsole are provided in the middle foot portion so that the upper surface of the midsole less easily sinks downward due to a load from above on the medial side than in the band-like area and on the lateral side. In the front foot portion, a longitudinal groove is formed which extends in the front-rear direction in the central portion of the midsole body so as to be continuous with the band-like area. The longitudinal groove is curved so as to be generally parallel to the lateral edge of the front foot portion of sole.
