In a synchronous information reproduction apparatus, a receiving section sequentially receives a clock signal. A storing section stores object information to be sequentially reproduced from a series of reproduction points. A reproduction point generating section generates location information indicative of a reproduction point of the object information stored in the storing section. A reproducing section reads and reproduces the object information from the storing section based on the reproduction point generated by the reproduction point generating section. A synchronizing section synchronizes an incremental speed of the reproduction point generated by the reproduction point generating section with a reception timing of the clock signal based on a reception time interval of the clock signals. An outputting section outputs contents of the object information reproduced by the reproducing section.

Synchronous information reproduction apparatus

A tuner apparatuscauses a user to designate a musical instrument that is to be tuned and a reference pitch that is a standard upon tuning, by a process at a setting portion. A pitch detecting portiondetects a pitch of a performed note inputted via a microphoneand input portion. A target note specifying portiondefines a note name, which is positioned nearest to the performed note in a predetermined temperament (e.g., 12-note equal temperament), as a target note based upon the detected pitch of the performed note and the inputted reference pitch. Then, a calculating portioncalculates a difference between the pitch of the performed note and the pitch of the target note, and a display control portioncauses the display deviceto display the calculated difference. Further, the display control portionconverts the target note into a note name written in a score relating to the musical instrument to be tuned by using a transposition parameter relating to the musical instrument to be tuned that is stored in the storage portionand set by the setting portion, and causes the display deviceto display a staff in which a note corresponding to the note name written in a score is written.

Tuner apparatus for aiding a tuning of musical instrument

In an instrument performance learning apparatus, a storage section stores model performance waveform data representing a time series of individual performance sounds of a model performance. An input section inputs real performance waveform data representing a time series of individual performance sounds of a real performance. A pitch graph display control section detects each pitch of each individual performance sound from the stored model performance waveform data and from the inputted real performance waveform data, and displays a pitch graph representing transitions of the detected pitches. An amplitude envelope graph display control section detects each amplitude level of each individual performance sound from the model performance waveform data and from the real performance waveform data, and displays an amplitude envelope graph representing transitions of the detected amplitude levels, such that the amplitude envelope graph has a time axis common to that of the pitch graph while the amplitude envelope graph is located in an area of the display device which does not overlap with another area of the display device where the pitch graph is located.

Instrument performance learning apparatus using pitch and amplitude graph display

There is provided a database storing motion components, each of which includes motion information representative of a performance motion trajectory corresponding to a subdivided performance pattern for each musical instrument or part along with sounded point markers specifying tone-generation timing in the motion information. Motion components corresponding to the performance information are sequentially read out from the database to create basic motion information, and a three-dimensional picture is generated on the basis of the basic motion information and visually shown on a graphic display unit. Picture to be thus displayed can be selected optionally via a musical instrument change switch, player change switch and stage change switch, and the selected picture can be displayed in any desired direction by means of a viewpoint change switch.

Tone and picture generator device

Pictures of a predetermined musical instrument, such as a drum set, and a model player are displayed, so as to visually indicate, in accordance with a progression of performance, which musical instrument should be operated or played and which of body parts, such as left and right hands and feet, should be used for playing the musical instrument. For example, different display colors may be allocated to the left and right hands so that each musical instrument to be played is displayed in such a color corresponding to the hand to be used for playing the musical instrument. A picture of a musical score may be displayed. Performance data and musical score data of a music piece and performance motion picture data may include time data that are based on their respective time scales. In reproduction, the respective time scales of the respective data are commonized to thereby permit synchronization between a reproductive music performance and visual display.

Performance instruction apparatus and method

Image information representing a manner of playing a piece of music can be diplayed while playing the piece of music. Performance image information is created, which enables displaying an image showing a manner of playing a piece of music while playing the piece of music. A motion component database is created, which comprises a plurality of motion components each created for each musical instrument or each part and stores a trajectory of a fraction of motion of a player and a musical instrument in one of at least one performance method being typical of the each musical instrument or the each part. Motion descriptive information is created, which designates one of the motion components corresponding to performance information on the piece of music to be played and a designated one of the at least one performance method, on a time schedule determined by a predetermined musical time unit of the piece of music to be played. Sequence information is created, which comprises the motion descriptive information, and the performance information. The designated one of the motion components can be edited, and the edited motion component is stored in the motion component database.
