A lever is supported so as to be rotatable with respect to a housing to a temporary locking position and a main locking position. One of the housing and the lever is provided with a first locking portion capable of flexible deformation, and another is provided with a second locking portion. The first locking portion includes a first apex portion and a first locking surface that is connected to the first apex portion. The second locking portion includes a second locking surface that contacts the first locking portion and stops the lever at the temporary locking position. The second locking surface includes an inclined side that is disposed, in a state where the first locking portion has bent due to interference between the first apex portion and the second locking portion, so as to be inclined from the first apex portion toward the first locking surface.

Connector with locking portion

A lever is rotatable along an outer surface of a connector body. A detecting member is movable to a detection position along the outer surface of the connector body. The connector body includes, on an outer surface side, a movement restricting portion arcuately extending in a rotating direction of the lever and capable of abutting on a surface of the detecting member on the detection position side before the connector body and a mating housing are properly connected. The connector body includes, on the outer surface side, a pressing portion capable of abutting on a surface of the detecting member opposite to a surface of the detecting member facing the outer surface of the connector body.

A cover has a back wall facing the rear surface of a housing and a pair of facing walls projecting from the back wall and to be held on the housing. A lever is arranged rotatably along the outer surface of either one of the pair of facing walls. The pair of facing walls include, on outer surface sides, movement restricting portions arcuately extending in a rotating direction of the lever and capable of abutting on a surface of a detecting member on a detection position side before the housing and a mating housing are properly connected. The respective movement restricting portions on the outer surface sides of the both facing walls are point-symmetrically shaped with respect to a center position of the cover when the cover is viewed from behind.

A connector including a housing; a lock arm that holds the housing and a counterpart housing in a fitted state; and a detector that is in a state of being movable with respect to the lock arm when the housing and the counterpart housing are properly fitted, wherein: the detector is arranged at one side surface among two side surfaces of the lock arm.

A connection detecting member () is mounted on a support () of a lock arm () to be integrally resiliently displaceable, and relatively movable with respect to the support () between an initial position and a detection position. A resilient locking piece () of the connection detecting member () restricts a movement of the connection detecting member () to the detection position by contacting a front stop () of the lock arm () in a state where both housings () are not connected or are connected incompletely. The first housing () is provided with a movement restricting portion () for restricting a movement of the connection detecting member () toward the detection position by contact with the connection detecting member () when the resilient locking piece () is displaced in a separating direction from the front stop () due to curved deformation of the lock arm ().

A terminal cover (A) includes an escaping portion () formed by cutting off a part of a peripheral wall portion forming a first accommodating portion () to allow an internal space of the first accommodating portion () to communicate with a second accommodating portion (), thereby avoiding interference with a linking portion () of a terminal fitting (B). The terminal cover (A) also includes a multi-functional portion () which can be assembled with the first accommodating portion () and is arranged to close at least a part of the escaping portion () and capable of pressing the terminal fitting (B) to prevent a displacement of the terminal fitting (B) in an assembled state.

A connector is provided with a pair of female and male housings () connectable with each other. The female housing () includes a block-shaped housing main body () and the male housing () includes a receptacle () having an inner surface shape conforming to outer surfaces of the housing main body (). Corners on the outer surface of the housing main body diagonal to each other are bevels () with different shapes. The bevels () include moderately inclined portions () located at the opposite ends of the upper surface of the housing main body () and inclined at a relatively large angle with respect to a height direction and steeply inclined portions () located at the opposite ends of the lower surface of the housing main body () and inclined at a relatively small angle with respect to the height direction.

A male connector () is provided with a housing main body () formed with a plurality of cavities () penetrating in forward and backward directions, into which terminal fittings are insertable, a surrounding wall portion () arranged at a rear part of the housing main body () and open backward, and a plurality of seal tower portions () arranged inside the surrounding wall portion () at the rear part of the housing main body () and surrounding the cavities (). Outer ribs () extend between the inner surfaces of the surrounding wall portion () and the outer surfaces of the seal tower portions (). The outer ribsare thick at connected parts with the surrounding wall portion () while being thin at connected parts with the seal tower portions ().

An accommodation recess () is formed in the front surface of a housing main body (). A plate-like lance housing () including locking lances () for primarily locking terminal fittings () by resiliently deformably projecting at inner surfaces of terminal accommodation holes () is accommodated into the accommodation recess (). A plate-like retainer () movable to a partly locked position for permitting the insertion of the terminal fittings () into the terminal accommodation holes () and to a fully locked position for secondarily locking the terminal fittings () is also accommodated into the accommodation recess (). The rear surface of the lance housing () and the front surface of the retainer () are arranged in contact with each other.

In a male connector (), a lance housing () including locking lances () is provided separately from a housing main body () and a retainer including terminal locking portions () to be located in deformation spaces () for the locking lances () in a properly assembled state is provided separately from the lance housing (). A projection () projects backward from the retainer (), and a receiving hole () for receiving the projection () is formed in the front surface of the lance housing () to penetrate the lance housing (). The lance housing () is positioned with respect to the retainer () by inserting the projection () into the receiving hole ().

Electrical connector housing

A connector () has a housing main body () made of a synthetic resin and including an accommodation recess (). A lance housing () is to be accommodated into the accommodation recess (). Projections () are provided on the outer surface of the lance housing () for filling up a clearance between the outer surface of the lance housing () and the inner surface of the accommodation recess (). The projections () include main projections () having larger projecting amounts to be squashed between the two surfaces as the lance housing () is assembled into the housing main body () and auxiliary projections () having smaller projecting amounts and arranged such that the leading ends thereof can contact a facing mating surface without being squashed between the two surfaces as the lance housing () is assembled into the housing main body ().

A female housing () includes an inner tube () for accommodating female terminal fittings () and an outer tube () surrounding the outer peripheral surface of the inner tube (). Cavities (A,B) are arranged side by side in the female housing (), extensions (E) project out in an arranging direction of the cavities from the cavities (A) at ends in the arranging direction, and pushable surfaces () are at the rear ends of the extensions (E) for use during a connecting operation. Side walls (B) of the outer tube () are continuous with the extensions (E), and operation recesses () are formed in the side walls (B) before the extensions (E) in a connecting direction. Connecting and separating operations of the housings () can be performed by gripping the operation recesses ().
