A system generates a call according to the states of a photoreception unit of a call generator in response to data from a portable device. Data received by the photoreception unit from different types of portable devices can be processed and the portable device operation and the data transmission may be controlled according to the destination for the data and the mode of communication required by destination communication apparatus. Facsimile or telephone call data may be transmitted by the portable device in accordance with the type of destination communication apparatus.

An electronic computer capable of uttering voice is disclosed. The computer has a function to store therein data put in by the operator and the results of operations and automatically read out the stored data sequentially in the order to input step for checking. The computer further includes an instruction key for returning the step back to any desired step when the operator wishes to do so. After the step back by the instruction key, reading of the stored data is repeated starting from the returned step.

Electronic apparatus for dealing with numerical information

A signal generator generates different input signals when the keys are depressed. The signal generator comprises an input signal generating circuit and a double-key-depression detecting circuit. The input signal generating circuit includes a shift register having a plurality of shift stages and the associated output lines, signal lines for transmitting signals which may be sequentially derived from the output lines of the shift stages, and a discriminator for discriminating through which signalline is transmitted the signal. Each output of the shift stages of the shift register provides one information representative of a depressed key. Output of the discriminator provides another information representative of a depressed key. The input signal is identified by the combination of two kinds of the information.

Signal generator

An apparatus for suppressing undesired information comprises an information storge device in which characters or symbols of plural digits are stored in the form of coded information. Digit designating means is provided to designate digits for detecting whether output of the information stored in the storage device is desired or not. Also, means are provided for reducing the designated digits of the storage device by one digit when the detecting means detects that the information to be displayed is present in at least one of the designated digits of the storage device, and for suppressing the information in the at least one digit of the storage device designated by the designating means when the information to be displayed is not present in any of the designated digits of the storage device.
