A thermal spraying powder contains granulated and sintered particles of an yttrium-aluminum double oxide formed by granulating and sintering raw-material particles. The crushing strength of the granulated and sintered particles is 15 MPa or more, and 10% particle size of the granulated and sintered particles is 6 &#x3bc;m or more. The thermal spraying powder is suitable for use in forming a thermal spray coating through plasma spraying.

Yttrium-aluminum double oxide thermal spraying powder

A thermal spray powder includes cermet particles. Each cermet particle includes tungsten carbide particles having a mean primary particle size of 3 to 9 &#x3bc;m and metal particles or ceramic particles containing chrome. The mean particle size of the cermet particles is preferably from 2 to 50 &#x3bc;m and the compression strength of each cermet particle is preferably from 400 to 900 MPa. Such a thermal spray powder enables the formation of a thermal sprayed coating which has both excellent cavitation erosion resistance and slurry erosion resistance.

Thermal spray powder

A thermal spraying powder includes granulated and sintered particles of an yttrium-aluminum double oxide obtained by granulating and sintering a raw powder containing yttrium and aluminum. The total volume of fine pores having a diameter of 6 &#x3bc;m or less in one gram of the granulated and sintered particles is 0.06 to 0.25 cm. The thermal spraying powder reliably forms a thermal spray coating that is suitable for use where the thermal spray coating is subjected to a thermal shock in a corrosive atmosphere or an oxidative atmosphere and for use where the thermal spray coating is subjected to a thermal shock in a state where the thermal spray coating contacts a member that has reactivity to a base material.

Thermal spraying powder

The present invention relates to a thermal spraying powder capable of reliably allowing the achievement of a thermal sprayed coating having superior characteristics. A thermal spraying powder according to a first embodiment of the invention includes a predetermined amount of each of molybdenum, boron, cobalt, and chromium. The total content of molybdenum, boron, cobalt, and chromium in the thermal spraying powder is no less than 95% by weight. The primary crystal phase of the thermal spraying powder is multi-element ceramics containing at least one of cobalt and chromium along with molybdenum and boron. A thermal spraying powder according to a second embodiment of the invention includes a predetermined amount of each of molybdenum, boron, nickel, and chromium. The total content of molybdenum, boron, nickel, and chromium in this thermal spraying powder is no less than 95% by weight. The primary crystal phase of this thermal spraying powder is multi-element ceramics containing at least one of nickel and chromium along with molybdenum and boron.

Thermal spraying powder and method of forming a thermal sprayed coating using the same

A spray powder to be used for forming a coating, which comprises from 80 to 97 wt %, based on the total weight, of a cermet powder and from 3 to 20 wt %, based on the total weight, of a metal powder, wherein the metal powder comprises Cr and Ni in a total amount of at least 90 wt %, based on the total weight of the metal powder, and the content of Cr is from 0 to 55 wt %, based on the total weight of the metal powder.

Spray powder and method for its production

A spray powder which has a particle size of from 6 to 63 &mgr;m and which comprises from 75 to 95 wt % of a ceramic phase made of a WC powder and at least one chromium carbide powder selected from the group consisting of Cr C , Cr C and Cr C , and from 5 to 25 wt % of a metal phase made of a Ni or Ni-based alloy powder, wherein the mean particle size of primary particles of the WC powder constituting the ceramic phase is from 5 to 20 &mgr;m, and the mean particle size of primary particles of the chromium carbide powder is from 1 to 10 &mgr;m.
